Royal Ascot Tips Today: Kon Tiki Tops Day 4 Selections

Our tipster looks through every race on the card at Royal Ascot on Friday, with a big priced NAP heading his selections on Day 4 at the Berkshire meeting.
Three days down, two to go at the 2025 Royal meeting and Friday’s action looks fiercely competitive. The weather looks glorious and punters will be hoping for plenty of success on the track as we enter the closing stages of the week.
Here, I cast my eye over all seven races on Day 4 at Royal Ascot 2025 – with my ‘best bet’ running in one of the Group Ones and several big priced chances in the handicaps. Without further ado, let’s get stuck into my selections for Friday’s racing.
2:30 Albany Stakes – Oh Cecelia (E/W)
Pocket rocket Oh Cecelia can break the hearts of the home contingent in a fast and furious renewal of the Albany Stakes on Friday.
The two-year-old Starspangledbanner-filly, should really be two from two in terms of wins, but some hard pulling in her opening maiden caused her to miss out by a neck at the Curragh.
Hailing from the County Meath stable of Jack Davison, Oh Cecelia is drawn nicely in stall five, and can be up there in the van all the way.
3:05 Commonwealth Cup – Ides Of March (E/W)
Wootton Bassett-colt Ides Of March can cure his current bout of seconditus, with a victory in the highly coveted Commonwealth Cup.
In terms of his prep races this term, Ides of March was a decent second at Navan to stablemate Whistlejacket (who arguably benefited from the soft going) and at Newbury he was the runner-up to Symbol of Honour, a subsequent Group 2 Sandy Lanes scorer.
His form looks extremely solid and from a punting perspective, he’s an each-way play in the Royal Ascot betting.
3:40 Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes – French Duke (E/W)
Wathnan Racing enjoy their working relationship with trainer Roger Varian, and there is every reason to believe that their French Duke can put up a bold show in this 1m4f contest.
Gelded last December, this son of Sea The Stars showed some willing attributes when chasing home The Reverend at Ascot, and the predicted going should suit him right down to a tee.
You would like to think his concentration will be greatly enhanced following his medical procedure and James Doyle does well when riding for this stable.
4:20 Coronation Stakes – Kon Tiki (NAP)
Supplemented for £46,000 into the Coronation field, Jane Chapple-Hyam and connections must be feeling fairly confident that they can recoup that outlay in this Royal Ascot feature.
The Night Of Thunder-filly is unbeaten in three starts, supplementing two all-weather novice successes with a turf victory in the Listed Michael Seely Memorial Fillies’ Stakes at York’s Dante meeting.
After bypassing a run in the Prix de Sandringham at Chantilly at the start of the month, Kon Tiki (NAP) makes her eagerly awaiting return to the track, and much is expected of her.
5:00 Sandringham Stakes – Never Let Go (E/W)
The consistent Never Let Go makes plenty of each-way appeal at around odds of 20/1 in our horse racing odds.
Trained by Ed Walker, the filly has run at seven furlongs, one mile and one mile-four furlongs this season, with Walker convinced the straight mile is her now her perfect trip.
Runs at the very differing tracks of Wetherby, Haydock and Goodwood, will have given her plenty of experience, and she comes into this contest race hardened – which is always a decent trait.
Kieran Shoemark takes the ride, which is yet another plus point for her overall chances.
5:35 King Edward VII Stakes – Amiloc (WIN)
The last time we saw Amiloc he was maintaining his unbeaten record in an impressive manner in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood.
Being a gelding, Amiloc was ineligible to run in the Derby, but Royal Ascot went straight into Ralph Beckett’s race planner, and he was even cut to 25-1 from 33-1 for the Eclipse at Sandown.
Rated 109, the three-year-old is the one they all have to beat in this 1m4f affair.
6:10 Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes – Ruby’s Profit (E/W)
Ruby’s Profit is probably one of the best flat horses Dr Newland and Jamie Insole have in training this season, and the youngster can make the grade once more over a quick five furlongs.
A close third in the Epsom Dash at the home of the Derby, Ruby’s Profit looks well equipped to handle a racecourse such as Ascot and Kieran Shoemark will provide the steering.
