The action from the FIFA Club World Cup on Friday will start in the early hours in the UK, when Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain face Brazilian side Botafogo at the Rose Bowl in California.

On Friday evening, fellow Brazilian side Flamengo are in action, they take on Chelsea at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with both sides having won their first game of the campaign.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Friday’s FIFA Club World Cup fixtures:

Paris Saint-Germain v Botafogo – Friday, 2am (UK Time).

  • Champions League holders PSG got their FIFA Club World Cup campaign off to a flying start on Sunday evening after a 4-0 victory against Atletico Madrid, showing exactly why they are amongst the favourites to win this competition.
  • Luis Enrique’s side could confirm their place in the next round with a victory here against Botafogo, it would also extend their winning streak to seven games in all competitions, six of which have seen the Parisians score at least three goals.
  • History will be made on in this one, as PSG will become the first French side to ever play a competitive fixture against a non-European opponent, which seems remarkable.
    ——————————–
  • Botafogo were predicted to be up against it in Group B given the likes of PSG and Atletico Madrid also occupy the group. However, Fogo are looking to rip up the script and got themselves off to a perfect start with a 2-1 victory against Seattle Sounders.
  • Renato Paiva’s side are the outsiders in this one but they’ve actually won seven of their last nine games (W7, D1, L1) and a victory here would all but confirm Botafogo’s place in the next round.
  • Botafogo have only conceded two or more goals in three of their last twenty-one games in all competitions, they are a hard side to break down although this is a different ask given the attacking threat on display for PSG.

Prediction: PSG -1 Handicap, PSG 2-0 Botafogo.
