The FIFA Club World Cup is here, with a total of 32 teams competing to win the trophy and almost £100 million in prize money, the tournament runs until July 13th.

Action from the FIFA Club World Cup last sixteen takes place on Saturday evening as Benfica take on Chelsea at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, in what is sure to be a very intriguing encounter.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Saturday’s FIFA Club World Cup fixture:

Benfica v Chelsea – Saturday, 9pm (UK Time)

  • Benfica defied the odds slightly in Group C after they managed to finish at the summit following a 1-0 victory against Bayern Munich in the final group game, the victory also made it back-to-back victories in the Club World Cup for the Eagles.
  • Had Benfica finished runners-up in Group C, they would have been facing Brazilian side Flamengo but Premier League side Chelsea await, a side they haven’t beaten in their last three attempts, although they were back in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
  • I think this one will be a tight affair, both sides have kept two clean sheets in their last three CWC games and given the competition has now reached it’s knockout stage, i’m expecting a cagey battle.
    ——————————–
  • Chelsea made no mistake in bouncing back from their 3-1 defeat to Flamengo, a 3-0 victory in a game they simply had to win against ES Tunis wasn’t enough to secure their top spot in Group D but they did qualify as runners-up.
  • The Blues have only lost one of their last six meetings in all competitions and Enzo Maresca’s side have managed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last six victories, i wouldn’t be surprised to see the same thing in this one.
  • I think Chelsea should get the job done in this one but i don’t think there will be too much between the two sides, i’m going to edge towards the Blues to nick it.

Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals, Benfica 0-1 Chelsea
