According to the latest football betting markets at William Hill, Watkins is now 3/1 to join the Red Devils this summer. Just a short while ago, he was as big as 20/1 to move to Old Trafford in the current window.

Watkins scored 16 goals in 38 Premier League appearances last season, helping Villa to qualify for the 2025/26 Europa League. But could he leave for pastures new? The rumour mill certainly seems to think so.

Bet on the Premier League at William Hill

Arsenal were clear favourites to sign Watkins but the Gunners are out to 5/1 to sign the Villa forward. With Mikel Arteta’s side prioritising the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, that could pave the way for Watkins to move to Man United.

Having said that, Premier League champions Liverpool have been cut to 8/1 to sign Watkins while punters can back Newcastle United at the same price to sign the Villa man before the end of the summer.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Ollie Watkins is a man who looks set to be on the move, and Manchester United have emerged as the likeliest destination for the England striker.

“The Red Devils have been as big as 20/1 in the betting, but we’ve seen strong support for them to sign Watkins, so much so they are now 3/1 favourites to get the Villa man.

“Arsenal have gone the other way as they look to finalise a deal for Viktor Gyökeres, they’re out to 5/1, with Liverpool and Newcastle both into 8/1 from 16/1.”
