FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Preview

The FIFA Club World Cup is here, with a total of 32 teams competing to win the trophy and almost £100 million in prize money, the tournament runs until July 13th.

We’re now down to the final four teams in the FIFA Club World Cup and we’ve got a real mouth-watering encounter on Wednesday between two European giants, as Paris Saint-Germain take on Real Madrid at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, New York, with a spot in the final up for grabs.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Wednesday’s FIFA Club World Cup fixture:

Paris Saint-Germain v Real Madrid – Wednesday, 8pm (UK Time)

  • PSG faced Bayern Munich in the quarter-final on Saturday evening in a game full of twists and turns, the Parisians found the opening goal with just twelve minutes left to play but must have feared the worst after going down to nine players after both Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez were sent off with straight red card offences. However, a late counter attack from the French side seen Ousmane Dembele score his first goal of the tournament and sealed the victory.
  • Luis Enrique’s side came into this tournament as one of the favourites given their success in the UEFA Champions League and the fact they completed the quadruple, they’ve now scored at least two goals in nine of their last ten games in all competitions, showing why they are the team to fear.
  • These two sides haven’t met since the UEFA Champions League last sixteen back in 2022, with both sides winning a leg each but the Parisians missing out 3-2 on aggregate.

  • It’s not taken Real Madrid to get to grips with Xabi Alonso’s system, it’s been evident so far with the use of his full-backs and in particular in their quarter-final game against Borussia Dortmund, with both his full-backs linking up to put his side 2-0 up, eventually winning the game 3-2 with some late drama.
  • Within that late drama, new-boy Dean Huijsen found himself in trouble after denying a goal-scoring opportunity, his straight red card means the former Bournemouth player will miss this semi-final, something that will give Alonso a slight headache in terms of selection.
  • This has the potential to be one of the game of the tournaments so far, with five of the last six head-to-head meetings producing at least three goals. I’m backing goals here with both sides having real attacking threats present.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score In Both Halves, PSG 3-2 Real Madrid.
