F1 Drivers Championship Odds: Norris Shortens After Silverstone Triumph

McLaren driver Lando Norris closed the gap to teammate Oscar Piastri in the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship after emerging victorious at the British Grand Prix.
Winning the Silverstone race for the first time in his career, Norris saw his odds slashed to 11/8 to win the 2025 title. Piastri is the current championship leader and he heads the betting at 4/6.
As of July 8th 2025, Piastri is leading the way in the title race with 234 points. Teammate Norris is just eight points behind on 226 and it’s going to be an interesting battle between the two McLaren drivers in the coming months.
Bet on Formula 1 at William Hill
There’s little to separate the two front-runners, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen next in the market, but is some way off the favourites at 20/1.
George Russell is a big outsider at 100/1, while it’ll take a miraculous turnaround for Charles Leclerc (250/1) or Lewis Hamilton (500/1) to secure the title.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Lando Norris’ win at Silverstone has certainly altered the race to win the Drivers’ Championship this season.
“He’s now Oscar Piastri’s closest challenger, having shortened in 11/8 from 2/1 in recent days. That said, Piastri remains odds-on at 4/6 to be crowed world champion.
“It seems likely that a McLaren driver will claim the title for this season, as reigning champion Max Verstappen is some way off the pace in the market, at 20/1 to win his fifth consecutive trophy.”
