How much do the winners of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 competition receive and how is prize money split throughout the tournament?

The women’s Euros are the biggest football betting event of the summer. Women’s football continues to go from strength to strength, with UEFA investing more money in the competition than ever before…

Twenty-two of 31 matches were sold out before the tournament had got underway.

More tickets have been sold to Euro 2025 than were to Euro 2022, and that’s without using Old Trafford for the opening match or Wembley for the final. There will inevitably be more live betting interest in the competition than ever before, too.

The total prize pot for Euro 2025 represents a 156% increase from the prize fund for Euro 2022.

Breakdown Of Prize Money At Euro 2025:

  • Qualification – €1.8 million
  • Group stage draw – €50,000
  • Group stage win – €100,000
  • Quarter-finals – €550,000
  • Semi-finals – €700,000
  • Runner-up – €850,000
  • Winner – €1.75 million

Total prize fund at the 2025 Women’s European Championship: €41 million.

UEFA’s Investment

Along with €1 billion committed to growing the women’s game between 2024 and 2030, UEFA has also increased the money sent to clubs who release players for the tournament. The total prize fund of €41 million is a massive increase from €16 million in 2022 and €8 million in 2017.

There is a maximum prize fund of €5.1 million if a team wins all of its group matches and wins the tournament.

Negotiations between national football governing bodies and players have – in theory – been eased by guaranteeing a portion of the prize money for the players. Each competing nation must give between 30% and 40% of its prize money to their players.

Clubs are compensated at a rate of €985 per day per player. If a player is in Group A and reaches the final, a club will receive a total of €36,445 for the player.

UEFA director for women’s football Nadine Kessler spoke excitedly about the financial commitments made by Europe’s governing body.

How will the Lionesses fare at Euro 2025 having qualified for this summer’s tournament? Only time will tell…
