Switzerland is set as we get the quarter-final stage of this Women’s European Championship underway, with Norway facing Italy in the first game on Wednesday evening. Thursday night will see Sweden take on reigning champions England in a really intriguing encounter, whilst tournament favourites Spain take on the host nation Switzerland on Friday evening. The final game of these quarter-finals will take place in Basel, as France and Germany go head-to-head in what should be a cracker.

These two sides met twice back in 2024 and both games ended in a draw, i’m going to back the Lionesses here as i feel they’ve just started to hit form at the right time.

Spain v Switzerland – Friday, 8pm
- Tournament favourites Spain have showed exactly why they are favourites here in Switzerland, topping their group with ease after three wins from three games, they’ve now won all of their last eight games across all competitions.
- The host nation Switzerland scraped through Group A via goals scored, having scored one more goal than Finland and they’ll need to improve if they are to defy the betting odds in this one, having conceded at least five goals in each of their last three meetings against Spain.
Pick of the game: Spain To Score Over 2.5 Goals
France v Germany – Saturday, 8pm
- France are another side that have a 100% record in this competition so far having won all three of their games, they’ve now scored at least two or more goals in each of their last ten games in all competitions.
- Germany had to settle for second place in their group after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Sweden, albeit having played large parts of the game with a player less, that was the Germans first loss in their last nine games, whilst each of the last three outings against France have all seen both teams on the scoresheet.
