The Group 1 Sussex Stakes is the feature race of the five-day Goodwood Festival, which runs from July 29 to August 2.

The one mile contest, open to three-year-olds and upwards, sees its prize-money pot remain at £1,000,000, with the full breakdown as follows:

1st = £567,100
2nd = £215,000
3rd = £107,600
4th = £53,600
5th = £26,900
6th = £13,500

Sussex Stakes Entry Fees And Declarations

Enter by noon, May 27 and pay £4500 stake.

Scratch by noon on July 8 or pay £4000.

Confirm by noon on July 24 and pay £4000.

Supplementary entry by noon, July 24 and pay £70,000 stake.

Declare by 10.00 a.m. July 28.

Weights

3-y-o colts and geldings = 9st 2lb; fillies…8st 13lb.

4-y-o and up colts and geldings = 9st 10lb; fillies…9st 7lb.

Sponsorship

VISIT QATAR has kindly sponsored this race and will present a memento to the winning Owner, Trainer, Jockey and Groom.

In addition, they will give a cash prize to the person who, in their opinion, is responsible for the horse judged to be the best turned out in this race.

All number cloths to be carried in this race have been sponsored and will carry the name/logo of VISIT QATAR.

The sponsorship payment of £500 will be distributed equally amongst all horses starting in this race in accordance with paragraphs 24 to 27 of the Stakes and Prize Money Code.
