Nassau Stakes Prize Money For 2025

The Nassau Stakes is a Group 1 race run under Weight For Age conditions at Goodwood Racecourse. The race takes place over almost a mile and a quarter for the three years old and upwards fillies and mares only. 

This year’s feature is scheduled to take place on Thursday 31st July at 3.05pm GMT.

• 2nd = £129,000.00

• 3rd = £64,560.00

Nassau Stakes Entry Fees And Declarations

• Enter by noon, June 24th and pay £2600 stake.

• Scratch by noon on July 8th or pay £2900.

• Confirm by noon on July 25th and pay £2000.

• Supplementary entry by noon, July 25th and pay £40,000 stake.

• Declare by 10.00 a.m. July 29th.

VISIT QATAR has kindly sponsored this race and will present a memento to the winning Owner, Trainer, Jockey and Groom.

In addition, they will give a cash prize to the person who, in their opinion, is responsible for the horse judged to be the best turned out in this race.

All number cloths to be carried in this race have been sponsored and will carry the name/logo of VISIT QATAR.

The sponsorship payment of £500 will be distributed equally amongst all horses starting in this race in accordance with paragraphs 24 to 27 of the Stakes and Prize Money Code.

Breeder’s Cup Qualification

The Nassau Stakes serves as a ‘Win and You’re In’ qualifier for the Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, granting the winner an automatic fees-paid berth into the $2million contest at Del Mar in November.

“The win and you’re in incentive is very important for any owner, it certainly pushes the Breeders’ Cup to the forefront of your priorities,” said Andrew Balding, the trainer of See The Fire.

“The Breeders’ Cup is a hugely important meeting worldwide, but it does come at the end of a long season so it really depends on how she is training at the end of the season, and what happens between now and then, but it’s very much on the shortlist for our autumn campaign.

“It would be lovely to think one day we would have a horse good enough to be competitive in a Breeders’ Cup race, we’ve had a couple of runners so far but no joy, so it’s something very much that we are striving to achieve.”

Original Nassau Stakes Entries

Among the headliners for the Nassau Stakes are this year’s Oaks heroine MINNIE HAUK and her valiant runner-up WHIRL.

They are joined by fellow Classic winner FALLEN ANGEL, who captured the Irish 1,000 Guineas in 2024. This year is another deep renewal of this famous fillies’ contest, which originally drew 33 entries.
