Glorious Goodwood Tips & Day 4 Predictions (2025)

Day four of the 2025 Glorious Goodwood meeting sees the world’s top sprinters do battle in the Group 2 King George Stakes, made famous by the superstar Battaash.
The Golden Mile and the Group 3 Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes make it a memorable card on the penultimate day of the Festival.
1.20pm – 2m4½f Goodwood Handicap
Understandably the Goodwood Handicap regularly attracts dual purposes runners due to the distance of the race, and those are always horses to have on your side from a punting perspective.
I am confident that the Gary & Josh Moore-trained AGGAGIO can string them out here, given his previous excellent record at this track, plus his aptitude to his racing generally, whether that be over hurdles or on the flat.
At odds of around 6/1 in our horse racing betting, he’s an each-way bet to nothing as they say in the trade.
1.55pm – 1m Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3)
The Godolphin-Appleby-Buick triumvirate can take top honours with OPERA BALLO in this Grade 3 contest over a mile.
This son of Ghaiyyath doubled his stakes tally last time with a decisive victory in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket, and another big run is on the cards.
2.30pm – 1m Golden Mile (Heritage Handicap)
We haven’t seen LATTAM since he finished well down the field in the Lincoln, so Julie Camacho must feel that the time is right for the six-year-old to be strutting his racecourse stuff again.
The early sports betting market appears wary of him given his absence, but his back form in the 2024 Lincoln, plus the Balmoral, make him shortlist material to me. I advise an each-way flutter.
3.05pm – 5f King George Stakes (Group 2)
Course and distance winner BIG MOJO (NAP) can chalk up yet another victory in West Sussex after scoring in last year’s Molecomb Stakes.
Mick Appleby’s speedball comes here on the back of a narrow defeat in the July Cup and there is every reason to believe he can go one better today.
3.45pm – 1m1f Conditions Stakes
113-rated LIBERTY LANE can take advantage of this drop in grade and land the spoils at a track he’s won at before.
After finishing third in the Group 3 Huxley Stakes at Chester’s May Meeting, Karl Burke’s five-year-old won a 1m3f Listed event here then ran down the field in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot. Everything points to a bold show on Friday afternoon.
4.20pm – 6f Nursery Handicap
RISING POWER is bidding to complete a hat-trick today and who would bet against him achieving it?
The Wootton Bassett-colt came home strongly from the rear when making a winning debut over five furlongs at Newmarket in May and followed up under a penalty at Sandown the following month. He’s a solid bet for win purposes.
4.55pm – 1m3f Handicap
William Haggas and Tom Marquand team up in the last with YABHER who won nicely last time at Sandown.
The Sea The Stars-gelding is a dab hand over this kind of distance and he should be in the thick of it.
