- 1st = £300,000
- 2nd = £89,950
- 3rd = £47,500
- 4th = £25,000
- 5th = £14,300
- 6th = £7,500
- 7th = 4,750
- 8th = 2,850
How Much Does It Cost To Enter A Horse In The Ebor?
Here is the full list of published entry fees and declarations – so get these dates noted down, horse racing betting fans.
- Enter by noon, July 8th and pay £875 stake
- Scratch by noon on July 29th or pay £1000
- Confirm by noon on August 18th and pay £625
- Declare by 10.00 a.m. August 21st
Ebor Handicap Weights
- Lowest weight…8st 2lb; Highest weight not less than…9st 12lb
- Penalties, after July 19th, 2025, a winner of a race…4lb, of 2 races…7lb
NOTE: Any horse rated above 110 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb.
Subsequently, the excess over 110 in any rating shall be allotted to that horse without limitation to the highest weight to be carried.
Ebor Automatic Qualification
The winners of the following “Race to the Ebor” races were guaranteed a starting place in the 2025 Ebor (Class 2) (Heritage Handicap) and were not subject to elimination, provided they were entered and declared in the normal way.
- Melrose Handicap (York) Sat 24th August, 2024. Winner = Tabletalk (not entered)
- Jorvik Stakes (York) Weds 14th May 2025. Winner = Almosh’her
- Premier Handicap (Curragh) Weds 4th June 2025. Winner = Mr Percy
- Grand Cup (York) Sat14th June 2025. Winner = Al Qareem (not entered)
