US Open Tennis: Men’s Semi-Finals Predictions (2025)

And then there were four. The eyes of the tennis world will be on New York for the semi-finals of the 2025 US Open.
The final Grand Slam tennis betting tournament of the calendar year will conclude on Sunday 7th September 2025 but we’ve got the small matter of the semi-finals to get through first.
Who will advance to the showpiece fixture on Championship Sunday? There is plenty at stake, with several storylines to follow ahead of the semi-final stage. Tennis fans could be in for a real treat if everything goes to plan.
US Open 2025 Tournament Winner Odds:
Ahead of the semi-finals, punters can bet on the outright winner of the 2025 US Open at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Jannik Sinner – 8/11
- Carlos Alcaraz – 13/10
- Novak Djokovic – 10/1
- Felix Auger-Aliassime – 33/1
Without further ado, it’s time to take a look at the two semi-final encounter, starting with a clash involving a 24-time Grand Slam champion and one of the brightest young talents in the sport.
Novak Djokovic (13/5) vs Carlos Alcaraz (2/7)
Now 38 years old, Djokovic continues to defy father time and he secured an 11th career victory over fourth seed Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals earlier this week.
The Serbian, chasing the 25th major title of his tennis career, has now reached the semi-finals of every Grand Slam event this year. Can he upset the sports betting odds by advancing to Sunday’s final? It would be foolish to write him off completely.
Now 14-0 in US Open quarter-final matches, he has won 10 of his 13 previous semi-final encounters but he finds himself installed as the underdog going into the contest with Alcaraz.
Yet to drop a single set at Flushing Meadows this year, Alcaraz has been ruthless since the start of the tournament – winning 14 of his 15 sets without the need for a tie-break. That is a quite phenomenal achievement, to say the least.
Incredibly, Djokovic has a narrow advantage in head-to-head encounters with the Spaniard. He defeated Alcaraz at this year’s Australian Open – the other hard court Grand Slam event on the circuit – despite dropping the opening set of the match.
The Serbian has a 5-4 career record against Alcaraz and Djokovic dispatched his younger opponent in the Paris Olympics final to notch the career Golden Slam. To this day, he remains one of only three players (Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal) to do that.
However, Alcaraz is 16 years younger than Djokovic and fatigue may play a part here. While the Serbian is undoubtedly capable of holding his own, it’s hard to look past Alcaraz as he chases Grand Slam title number six.
Djokovic v Alcaraz Prediction: Alcaraz to win & both players to win at least one set (13/10)
Jannik Sinner (1/33) vs Felix Auger-Aliassime (11/1)
Sinner breezed into the US Open semi-finals with a straight sets victory over compatriot Lorenzo Musetti and he is expected to make light work of opponent Felix Auger-Aliassime in the next round.
The world number one dropped just two games in his most recent tie with the Canadian in the Cincinnati Masters last month, but he did slump to back-to-back defeats against Auger-Aliassime in 2022.
Sinner was ruthless on his serve in the quarter-finals, winning 91% of points on his first serve. Musetti was restricted to just seven break opportunities and he failed to convert a single one.
Having lost just four matches in majors all season, Sinner will take some stopping in the semi-final and a mouth-watering clash with Alcaraz could be on the cards this weekend.
Sinner is looking to claim his fifth Grand Slam title and victory in New York will see the Italian record his fourth Slam crown in the last five major tournaments. Without a shadow of a doubt, 2025 has been his year.
He’s playing at an incredibly high level and it’s hard to look past him in this encounter. Auger-Aliassime has won two of the three meetings between the players at this stage but I’m expecting Sinner to level the score here.
Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime Prediction: Sinner to win 3-0 (4/9)
