Where Is The 2027 Ryder Cup Being Played?

Ryder Cup 2025

The Ryder Cup returns to Ireland in 2027 when Adare Manor, in County Limerick, hosts the biennial contest between Europe and the United States for the first time.

The five-star resort will follow on from Bethpage Black in New York (2025) as the venue for golf’s greatest team contest. It means The Ryder Cup will be staged in Ireland for the second time, 20 years after The K Club hosted the event in 2006.

What will it do for tourism?

Whilst the eyes of the world were on New York last week, in Ireland the countdown has begun to this week’s official handover of the Ryder Cup to Adare Manor for 2027 – when the tournament will celebrate its historic 100th anniversary.

Tourism Ireland have already been working hard to promote their world-class golf venues to millions of fans and potential visitors from around the globe.

It also presents them with an opportunity to showcase County Limerick and the Wild Atlantic Way.

Will there be accommodation available?

The demand for tickets will be enormous from Irish fans, but any golf betting fans from further afield hoping to attend, will face some rather hefty rental charges.

Details have emerged recently of how much home rentals for the 2027 Ryder Cup will cost.

Local residents in the surrounding area at Adare Manor have been offered the chance to put their homes up for rental between Sunday, September 12th to Monday, September 20th (Ryder Cup being the 17th to 19th).

Based upon quality, and the distance from Adare Manor, a five-star, four-bedroom property within walking distance of the golf course  could earn homeowners €25,600 – an eye-watering price for any fans hoping to attend the 2027 Ryder Cup.

Even the cheapest price category currently listed is €1,950 per bedroom for a three-star property over 60 minutes’ drive away, which again, is just wow!

Who owns Adare Manor?

Adare Manor is owned by racehorse trainer JP McManus, who also held a major share in Manchester United at the start of the Millennium.

The course hosted the Irish Open in 2007 and 2008, as well as the JP McManus Pro-Am in 2005, 2010 and 2022.

The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1995 as part of the Adare Manor resort.

After McManus purchased the land in 2015, the course was redesigned by American golf architect Tom Fazio.

What is special about Adare Manor?

Many people have said that Adare Manor is the Irish equivalent of Augusta National – a course that the wider sports betting community will be familiar with.

The tight back nine is clearly the draw of the course, with a finishing stretch custom-built for match play.

Water hazards are a factor on four of the last five holes, especially on the par-3 16th and the drivable par-4 15th, which borders the River Maigue on one side. You then have to cross the river to reach the par-5 closing hole.

McManus said a very long time ago that hosting the Ryder Cup was the dream of his for the venue, and that dream will now come into fruition in 2027.
