Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Arsenal v Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 12.30pm
Punters can bet on Arsenal v Nottingham Forest with William Hill
- Arsenal return from the International break looking to bounce straight back from their 1-0 defeat away at Liverpool, a game which would have frustrated the Arsenal faithful given there wasn’t much in the game but conceding a fairly-late goal saw an end to their perfect Premier League start.
- Arsenal will be looking to pick up their third PL home victory in a row for the first time in over a year and should be confident in doing just that, they’ve lost just two of their last sixteen top-flight fixtures against Nottingham Forest, they’ve also won each of the last six meetings on home soil in all competitions.
- Arsenal will be without key players for this one as their injury list continues to grow in the early stage of this campaign but Mikel Arteta will demand more from his side and will want to pick up a win before their trip to Bilbao on Thursday.
——————————– - Nuno Espirito Santo secured European football for Nottingham Forest last season ending a 30-year wait but when you come out with comments regarding the owner, it’s hard to come back from that and he lasted just three games into this new campaign, a shame really.
- Ange Postecoglou is the man that Forest have turned to which is an interesting appointment given his style of play is totally different to that of Nuno Espirito Santo’s and one that worked well for the Tricky Trees last season, we might not see the back line on the halfway line just yet, but you feel it’ll come over time.
- This is a tough first game for the former Tottenham Hotspur manager and especially if history of the fixture is anything to go by, Nottingham Forest haven’t won any of their last twelve visits to Arsenal, with their last win here coming back in 1989.
Prediction: Arsenal -1 Handicap, Arsenal 2-0 Nottingham Forest
Bournemouth v Brighton – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Brighton with William Hill
- Bournemouth have bounced back nicely from their opening night defeat at Anfield, the Cherries have won both of their Premier League outings since then including an impressive 1-0 victory away to Tottenham Hotspur just before the break.
- A victory here for Andoni Iraola’s side would secure three league wins in a row for the first time since December 2024, though they’ve beaten Brighton just once in their last six meetings in the English top-flight, there’s work to do here.
- The Cherries should be confident of at least getting on the scoresheet on Saturday, as they’ve scored at least one goal in seven of their last eight Premier League games.
——————————– - Like Saturday’s opponents, Brighton also headed into the International break with an impressive victory, the Seagulls came from behind and left it late against Manchester City, but their 2-1 victory gave Fabian Hurzeler’s side their first three points of the season.
- Brighton managed the double over Bournemouth last season which boosted their head-to-head record, the Albion have now won five of their last six meetings against the Cherries, two of which came at the Vitality Stadium.
- I’m expecting goals in this one, with each of the last four meetings between these two sides producing at least three goals, i think we’ll see a close contest but i’m backing Brighton to edge this one and get over the line.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Brighton To Win, Bournemouth 1-2 Brighton
Crystal Palace v Sunderland – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Crystal Palace v Sunderland with William Hill
- The good times look to continue for Crystal Palace with Oliver Glasner in charge, having secured European football for the first time and picking up the FA Cup and the Community Shield, they’ve started this new campaign strongly.
- The Eagles are currently unbeaten in the Premier League having picked up two draws before their impressive 3-0 victory away at Aston Villa just before the break, the first time they’ve gone unbeaten in their first three games on a top-flight season since 1992/1993.
- Crystal Palace will be hoping they can pick up their first three points of the season at Selhurst Park on Saturday, there’s a good chance of that given they’ve not lost here in their last nine outings across all competitive competitions.
——————————– - Newly-promoted side Sunderland are already proving many doubters wrong after their start to the new campaign, with two victories from their first three games, although both of those wins came on home soil.
- Regis Le Bris’ side will make history on Saturday if they can pick up three points, they’ll become just the third promoted side in Premier League history to win three of their opening four games of the season.
- These two sides haven’t met in the English top-flight since February 2017, Sunderland won that game 4-0 in South London but they’ve won just two of their last fourteen away games in the Premier League, already lost 2-0 to Burnley this campaign.
Prediction: Daniel Munoz To Assist A Goal, Crystal Palace 2-1 Sunderland
Everton v Aston Villa – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Everton v Aston Villa with William Hill
- Having suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first game away at newly-promoted Leeds United, many thought Everton would be in for another long season but the Toffees have shown some real character in recent weeks.
- David Moyes’ side have won each of their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-2 victory against Wolves just before the International break, another win here would secure three home league victories for the first time since May 2024.
- Although the Blues are in fine form right now, there’s still doubt about this one given their Premier League record against Aston Villa, having not won any of their last twelve top-flight meetings, their last win against Villa on home soil came back in 2015.
——————————– - It’s been a tough start for Aston Villa who travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in nineteenth after the first three games of this campaign, having picked up just one point so far and losing their last two outings, including that 3-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace before the break.
- Unai Emery’s side are yet to score a goal this season, the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliot will be welcomed additions given the fact Villa also tend to lack depth in their squad, a drastic improvement is needed.
- Despite a recent domination of this fixture with seven wins from their last eight Premier League meetings, Villa have scored more than one goal away at Everton just twice in their last nine visits, given how their season has started, i don’t think that will change.
Prediction: Draw, Everton 1-1 Aston Villa
Fulham v Leeds – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Fulham v Leeds with William Hill
- Fulham are still looking for their first three points of the season having played out two stalemates before a 2-0 defeat to rivals Chelsea just before the International break, their longest winless start since in the top-flight since the 2020/2021 season.
- The Cottagers have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last twelve Premier League games which will concern Marco Silva, they’ve actually only kept five clean sheets in their last forty-three league fixtures, remarkable.
- Fulham will be boosted by the fact they’ve won each of their last three meetings against Leeds United in all competitions, just one goal has separated these two sides in each of their last four PL meetings, i’m expecting another close encounter.
——————————– - Leeds got off to the perfect start on their return to the Premier League with a 1-0 victory against Everton but have struggled since then, having being thumped 5-0 at Arsenal, losing to Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup and then playing out a goalless draw against Newcastle before the break.
- The Whites make the trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon with an awful record in the capital, having lost each of their last eight Premier League games away in London, not ideal for a side looking to bounce back.
- Both sides have got themselves on the scoresheet in their last four Premier League meetings, i think we’ll see more of the same on Saturday afternoon but i’m backing the Fulham to make their home advantage become the difference.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Fulham To Win, Fulham 2-1 Leeds
Newcastle United v Wolves – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Newcastle United v Wolves with William Hill
- Newcastle United will be looking to finally put the Alexander Isak saga behind them after being the talk of the summer transfer window, the Magpies have brought in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, strong replacements as they look to kick-start their season.
- Eddie Howe’s side have only picked up two points in their first three games of the campaign so far but with three wins in their last three meetings against Wolves, the Toon Army will be expecting their first victory of the season here.
- Returning back to St James’ Park should help Newcastle in this one, they’ve not suffered defeat here in their last six meetings against the Old Gold, whilst they’ve conceded just once in those four meetings.
——————————– - I spoke about Wolves being in real danger of relegation this season at the start of this campaign and they are looking to prove me right, having lost each of their three PL games so far and conceding eight goals in the process, they travel to the North East at the foot of the table.
- The Old Gold have never lost their opening four league games of a campaign but if they are to avoid defeat on Saturday, a massive improvement is needed from Vitor Pereira’s side.
- Wolves have won just one of their last thirteen games against Newcastle United in the top-flight, whilst they’ve not won here since 2018. I’m expecting another uninspiring performance from Pereira’s side in this one, with Newcastle United capitalising on that.
Prediction: Nick Woltemade to score anytime, Newcastle United 3-0 Wolves
West Ham v Tottenham – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on West Ham v Tottenham with William Hill
- Graham Potter has faced some real scrutiny already this season with the West Ham boss heavily backed to be the next manager sacked, although a 3-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest should fill his side with real confidence before this all-London affair.
- Returning to the London Stadium might not help West Ham as much as it should, given they’ve not won any of their last six Premier League contests on home soil (D3, L3) but they’ll take some encouragement from the fact they’ve managed to score in five of those.
- The Hammers have seen each of their last six competitive fixtures produce at least three goals, whilst they’ve seen both teams score in seven of their last eight meetings against Tottenham Hotspur, although they’ve won just one of those eight meetings.
——————————– - It’s been all change at Tottenham off the pitch during the break, with chairman Daniel Levy leaving the club after nearly twenty-five years at the club. On the pitch, Spurs suffered their first defeat of the season against Bournemouth in their last outing against the betting odds.
- There’s still a lot of work to do for Thomas Frank as Spurs have lost seventeen of their last twenty-three Premier League games excluding newly-promoted sides but the Lilywhites do look a lot better during this campaign so far.
- Tottenham have struggled here in recent years, having not won any of their last five visits to the London Stadium but i think that will change here on Saturday just given the mood around the Irons right now, Spurs to win a tight affair.
Brentford v Chelsea – Saturday, 8pm
Punters can bet on Brentford v Chelsea with William Hill
- Brentford will start life without Yoane Wissa after getting his move to Newcastle United during the summer transfer window, likely to be a big miss for Keith Andrews but i’m sure he’s happy to move on from another off-field saga.
- The Bees have already picked up three points this season after a 1-0 victory against Aston Villa here in West London but they headed into the International break with real frustration after failing to take anything from their visit to Sunderland, despite taking the lead in the 77th minute.
- Brentford haven’t beaten their rivals on home soil in any of their last six meetings, with each of the last three head-to-head’s here ending in a stalemate.
——————————– - Chelsea went into the break sitting second in the Premier League after an unbeaten start to their new campaign (W2, D1), this is their fourth London Derby in a row for the Blues, having already faced Crystal Palace, West Ham and Fulham.
- Enzo Maresca’s side will face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening and will want to travel to Germany keeping their winning form going, they’ve won three of their last four away league games.
- Chelsea have kept nine clean sheets in their last fifteen Premier League games showing real strength at the back and despite not winning here since 2021, this new-look side should have enough quality to get another London derby victory this season.
Prediction: Chelsea To Win To Nil, Brentford 0-2 Chelsea
