Thirty-six teams make up the Champions League group phase and each year we get to see some of the worlds best footballers in action against each other, from those strikers that have been around and done the lot, to those rising stars looking to make their mark on the big European stage.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some UEFA Champions League Top Goalscorer odds and predictions:
*All odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*
Erling Haaland – 6/1
- Arguably one of Europe’s best striker, Erling Haaland will be looking to pick up that Golden Boot at the end of May, the Manchester City striker has already claimed this award on two previous occasions for both Borussia Dortmund (scoring 10 goals in 2020/2021) and Man City (scoring 12 goals in 2022/2023), the big Norwegian scored eight goals in his nine appearances in the last UEFA Champions League campaign, you’d expect him to be in with a shout in this campaign.
Kylian Mbappe – 7/1
- Kylian Mbappe shared this trophy back in 2023/2024 after scoring a total of eight goals alongside Harry Kane, the French superstar managed to find the back of the net seven times last season in his debut UCL campaign for Real Madrid, i’m sure he’ll be looking to beat that total now he’s fully settled in with Los Blancos, although he’s never scored more than eight in his previous nine tournament appearances for Monaco, PSG and Real Madrid.
Robert Lewandowski – 8/1
- The UEFA Champions League is nothing new for a veteran of the game like Robert Lewandowski, the thirty-seven year-old has picked up this trophy previously after scoring a whopping fifteen goals for Bayern Munich back in 2019/2020. It’s rare you’d see a thirty-seven year old amongst one of the favourites to be the top goalscorer in the UCL but playing in this exciting Barcelona side will also offer up opportunities, with the Polish striker scoring eleven goals in thirteen outings in the previous campaign.
Mohamed Salah – 8/1
- Mohamed Salah had a unbelievable season in front of goal in the Premier League last season, scoring twenty-nine goals and providing eighteen assists but the Egyptian struggled to take that form into the European stage, where he scored just three goals in his nine UCL games for the Reds. Whilst he managed an impressive ten goals back in 2017/2018, that still remains his highest tally in the Champions League, Arne Slot will be hoping for those kind of numbers this time around.
Harry Kane – 10/1
- As mentioned, Harry Kane’s eight goals in 2023/2024 was enough for the Englishman to share the award with Kylian Mbappe and could count himself a little unlucky not picking the trophy up on back-to-back occasions. The Bayern Munich striker scored eleven goals last season in this competition but that still wasn’t enough, ultimately falling two goals short. I’m going to back Harry Kane to win the Golden Boot this season, i feel like he’ll continue to impress on the big stage for the Germans during this campaign.
Alexander Isak – 12/1
- It’s hard to judge Alexander Isak and his Champions League stats as the Swedish striker has only played in this competition six times (1 for Borussia Dortmund and 5 for Newcastle), scoring just once. It’s obvious why the exciting striker is amongst the favourites though now he’s sealed his move to Liverpool, you’d expect the Reds to offer up more chances for Isak on the big stage, i think his time will come but this could be a little too soon.
Ousmane Dembele – 14/1
- Ousmane Dembele picked up player of the tournament last season after his fantastic performances helped Paris Saint-Germain to pick up their first ever UEFA Champions League trophy, scoring eight goals along the way. However, history suggests that those numbers could be tricky for the Frenchman to beat as the most he had scored before that in one UCL campaign was three goals whilst playing for Barcelona.
Best Of The Rest:
- Viktor Gyokeres – 14/1
- Hugo Ekitike – 16/1
- Raphina – 16/1 (Last season’s joint-winner)
- Cole Palmer – 20/1
- Lamine Yamal – 20/1
- Joao Pedro – 25/1
- Bukayo Saka – 25/1
- Lautaro Martinez – 33/1
- Serhou Guirassy – 40/1 (Last season’s joint-winner)
