Thomas Skinner has been revealed as the least popular contestant in the latest Strictly Come Dancing sentiment survey, with exclusive data from William Hill Vegas showing he has failed to connect with the public so far following the opening episode of the series on Saturday.

Social listening analysis conducted via Brandwatch found that just 2% of all online mentions about Skinner were positive – the lowest score of any celebrity in this year’s line-up, and a long way behind frontrunner La Voix, who topped the charts on 52%.

Strictly Come Dancing Outright Winner Odds:

Punters can bet on the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:

  • George Clarke – 3/1
  • Lewis Cope – 7/2
  • Karen Carney – 4/1
  • Vicky Pattison – 11/2
  • Amber Davies – 9/1
  • Harry Aikines-Aryeetey – 11/1
  • Ellie Goldstein – 12/1
  • La Voix – 18/1
  • Bar – 25/1

As well as languishing at the bottom of the sentiment table, Skinner is priced at 66/1 in the outright betting, just ahead of the two longest shots Ross King and Chris Robshaw (both 100/1).

At the other end of the market, George Clarke (3/1) and Lewis Cope (7/2) currently lead the betting, with former Lioness Karen Carney (4/1) and reality TV star Vicky Pattison (5/1) also seen as strong contenders. The sentiment data however paints a slightly different picture: while Clarke posted a solid 39% positive rating (joint third), Carney (34%) and Pattison (32%) trail some of their rivals in terms of public affection.

Elsewhere, actress Ellie Goldstein looks to be a potential dark horse – currently 14/1 in the outright betting but scoring an impressive 39% in sentiment, level with Clarke and Stefan Dennis. Fan favourite La Voix, who leads on 52% positive reaction, is a bigger outsider at 18/1, suggesting there may be value for punters backing her popularity to carry through.

Meanwhile, Balvinder Sopal (25/1) and Alex Kingston (25/1) both posted strong positive ratings at 40% and 36% respectively, while Amber Davies (9/1) and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (11/1) are sitting mid-table both in odds and in sentiment.

Strictly Come Dancing popularity 2025

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, commented: “Thomas Skinner may have gone into this series of Strictly Come Dancing with plenty of name recognition, but the public reaction has been overwhelmingly negative so far. With just 2% of online mentions about him being positive, he’s sitting firmly at the bottom of our sentiment table following Saturday’s series opener.

“While stars like La Voix and Balvinder Sopal are outperforming their betting odds with the public, Skinner faces an uphill battle to change perceptions. If he can turn things around on the dancefloor, he could yet win back some support – for now though, the public are voting with their tweets.”
