The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final NFL contest in Gameweek 5, with the visiting team looking to build on last week’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
NFL fans have grown accustomed to seeing the Chiefs competing in the Super Bowl, with Andy Reid’s men appearing in five of the last six showpiece encounters. However, Kansas City failed to inspire confidence in the opening weeks of the season and many believed that the Mahomes-Reid era is coming to an end.
That view may have been short-lived. The return of Xavier Worthy to the line-up inspired the Chiefs and their offence looked fresh and dangerous once again, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes completing four touchdown passes against the Ravens. More on that front a little later on.

Whisper it quietly but the Jaguars are 3-1 on the year and head coach Liam Coen has done a sterling job so far. With Jacksonville ranking as one of the top five defensive units in the National Football League, could we see the Jaguars prevail on Monday night?
For me, the answer is a resounding no. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is far from assured and the Chiefs will fancy their chances of stopping the Jags offence – and Kansas City have the firepower on the other side of the ball to take full advantage.
If Worthy is good to go, he will help keep the Jags secondary honest and Mahomes should thrive. I like the 5/2 available for Kansas City’s quarterback to throw three or more touchdowns and a road win looks likely to my eye.
