Newmarket Horse Racing Tips – Saturday 11th October 2025

Newmarket Racecourse Horse Racing

Saturday sees a jam-packed seven-race lineup at Newmarket, including four thrilling Group races, guaranteeing us a day of pure racing excitement.

The real showstopper is the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes, but in terms of punting, the 2m2f Cesarewitch Handicap always captures the betting market’s imagination.

1.15pm – 1m1f Darley Stakes (Group 3)

Derby disappointment DAMYSUS (NAP) righted a few wrongs last time out when landing the Prix Nureyev (Listed Race) at Deauville in mid-August.

His conqueror in the Dante – Pride Of Arras, has also had a recent form resurgence, so there’s every chance this Frankel-colt can follow up again.

1.50pm – 1m2f Zetland Stakes (Group 3)

York isn’t such a bad racecourse to learn your trade is it? And Alan King’s SPYCE has done just that, having come second on debut over seven furlongs, then scoring over a mile last month.

The Too Darn Hot-colt moves up in distance again on Saturday, and is well worth an each-way interest at his current price in the betting.

2.25pm – 1m Autumn Stakes (Group 3)

For obvious reasons, STRAIGHT UP was a poignant winner on day three of the Harvest Festival at Listowel, and the son of Wootton Bassett can oblige once more in this Group 3 affair.

Entered for the Irish 2000 Guineas next season, O’Brien must quietly like him.

3.00pm – 7f Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1) (No Geldings) (2yo)

Eve Johnson Houghton’s ZAVATERI has been a regular tip on this horseracing blog all summer long, and there is no reason to abandon him today.

After delivering a second Group 1 for Johnson Houghton in a thrilling National Stakes battle, the chances of delivering a third one are very high.

3.40pm – 2m2f Cesarewitch Handicap (GBBPlus Race) (Class 2) (3yo+)

One of the smallest fields for the Ces for years, but still a tricky race to crack this term.

Joseph O’Brien’s DAWN RISING ran a close fifth in the Irish Cesarewitch a fortnight ago, and can be on the premises once more, while  the REVEREND HUBERT is going to be popular with punters again after landing the Cesarewitch Trial.

I personally like hunting down the 33/1+ dual purpose horses in this contest, and I feel SEDDON – a former Cheltenham Festival scorer, can be competitive, as can former winner THE SHUNTER, who has been the subject of an administration “oversight” this week.

4.15pm – 7f Nursery Handicap (Class 3) (2yo 0-90)

SUPREME CLARETS has been knocking on the door all season long and that elusive first win may well just happen at headquarters on the weekend.

This race may well be a step up in grade, but the wide open nature of the track should hopefully suit the Supremacy-colt’s racing style, and I recommend Fahey’s runner as an each-way play.

4.50pm – 6f Boadicea Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) (3yo+)

Richard Hannon’s CIRCE appears to thrive over the six furlong trip here, and comes into this race on the back of an excellent showing in the Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes at Doncaster.

This Kodiac-filly looks sure to be involved in the finish and should be on any shortlist made for this race.
