World Series Game 1 Predictions – Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays Tips

The mighty Los Angeles Dodgers are facing the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre for Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night.

Los Angeles is the clear baseball betting favourite for this series after cruising to a 9-1 record in the National League playoffs.

Toronto had to overcome the New York Yankees in the ALDS and the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS. After falling 2-0 behind to Seattle, the Jays made history with their Game 7 win on Monday.

Where the Dodgers are a costly team of superstars, the Jays are a – still costly – mix of big names, unknown role players, and veteran pitchers. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who has the second-shortest odds for World Series MVP, needs to be at his very best for Toronto to upset the odds.

Starting Pitchers

Blake Snell is starting Game 1 for the Dodgers. Snell has led an immense Dodgers’ rotation in these playoffs, allowing only six hits and striking out 28 in 21 innings.

Toronto is yet to confirm its starter for the series opener. Kevin Gausman, who started Game 1 of the previous two rounds, is the favourite, though he pitched in relief in Monday’s Game 7. Trey Yesavage, the ultra-impressive rookie, is the other candidate.

It’s advantage Dodgers in the starting pitching matchup. Snell is having a phenomenal run. Whoever starts for Toronto shouldn’t be overlooked, though, as Gausman or Yesavage are capable of becalming this Dodgers’ lineup for a few innings.

World Series Game 1 Best Bets

  • Best Bet: Under 7.5 Runs (10/11), Blake Snell Under 4.5 Hits Allowed (8/13), Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases (10/11)

You might want to create a Your Odds wager with these three bets. It’s set to be low scoring, as has been the case in the majority of the Dodgers’ postseason outings. Los Angeles has scored only 3.5 runs per game over the NLDS and NLCS.

Shohei Ohtani hit three home runs in his last game. He was ice-cold at the plate for most of the playoffs, but would anyone be surprised if this was the start of a monstrous hot streak at the plate?

With Snell, it’s simple. He’s allowed under 4.5 hits in each of his playoff starts. This Jays lineup is aggressive at the plate and has plenty of contact hitters, but we are rolling with Snell to remain unhittable.

Dodgers vs. Blue Jays Head-to-Head Since 2019:

  • Dodgers 4-5 Blue Jays
  • Dodgers 9-1 Blue Jays
  • Dodgers 5-1 Blue Jays
  • Blue Jays 3-1 Dodgers
  • Blue Jays 2-4 Dodgers

  • Dodgers 1-8 Blue Jays
  • Dodgers 8-7 Blue Jays (Extras)
  • Dodgers 3-6 Blue Jays (Extras)
  • Dodgers 3-2 Blue Jays
  • Dodgers 2-1 Blue Jays (Extras)
  • Dodgers 16-3 Blue Jays
