Championship Predictions – Best Bets On Saturday 1st November 2025

EFL Championship Ball

THRILLS and spills are guaranteed approaching another mouth-watering weekend of EFL Championship combat.

Action commences on Friday night spotlighting the thriving team who remain unbeaten thereby attracting plenty of Championship betting interest. Elsewhere, I can’t help but feeling that at a managerial sacking is certain depending on Saturday’s results.

Without further ado, let’s get down to business. Here is my preview ahead of Saturday’s biggest matches in the second tier, with a considered score prediction for each contest to assist your football betting.

Norwich City v Hull City Prediction

  • Kick-off: 12.30pm
  • Rankings: 23rd versus 8th

Norwich City preview – Of all the managers under pressure, Liam Manning is walking the flimsiest of tight ropes. Two points short of safety reflecting eight winless matches and losing the last five. Indeed, all five home EFL fixtures completed have been reverses. Even so, club owner Mark Attanasio says: “There is no plan to sack Liam.”

Hull City preview – Five unbeaten matches leave Hull outside the Play-Offs on goal difference. However, only one win on their travels across 2025/26. Tigers striker Liam Miller is ruled out for six weeks due to hamstring problems.

Score prediction: Hull 3-2 and Manning dismissed on Saturday night.

Watford v Middlesbrough Prediction

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 14th versus 2nd

Watford preview – Two defeats amid three EFL encounters since Javi Gracia was reappointed as boss. Home form is good though accruing four wins in six attempts this campaign.

Middlesbrough preview – Holding a two point cushion on third place. Boro’s solitary League defeat in 2025/26 was 1-0 at Portsmouth on Saturday 4th October. In addition, they enjoy the Championship’s joint meanest defence leaking eight goals.

Score prediction: Bore draw 0-0.

Oxford United v Millwall Prediction

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 19th versus 3rd

Oxford United preview – Three points clear of the dreaded dotted relegation line following two wins in three ongoing Championship outings. Yet merely one home EFL conquest thus far.

Millwall preview – Four straight League victories conceding once taking the Lions to within two points of automatic promotion rungs. In fact, one defeat during eight EFL games. They are unbeaten away registering three wins and two draws. Lions boss Alex Neil said: “My players are an unbelievable group to work with so I feel very privileged at the moment.”

Score prediction: Millwall march on 3-1.

Stoke City v Bristol City Prediction

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 5th versus 4th

Stoke City preview – A huge clash in the Play-Off zone. Stoke have suffered just one defeat in six matches. They parade the Championship’s joint tightest defence being breached eight times.

Bristol City preview – A point above Saturday’s hosts on the back of three successive victories. Unbeaten on their 2025/26 EFL travels claiming three wins and two draws. Potent forward Emil Riis has shaken off a hamstring injury and should be fit for selection.

Score prediction: Vigorous 2-2.

Charlton Athletic v Swansea City Prediction

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 6th versus 13th

Charlton Athletic preview – I’m surprised to see Charlton doing so well after promotion via the League One Play-Offs last season. Then again, Nathan Jones is an accomplished manager at Championship level. They’ve picked up seven points in three unbeaten games to ascend towards the business end of the table.

Swansea City preview – The 2-1 triumph past visitors Norwich City last time out terminated a three match run where a single point was gained. Away fortunes are mixed to date – two wins, one draw, two defeats. Those positive results came at lowly duo Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday.

Score prediction: Charlton capable 2-1.
