Davis Cup Predictions & Betting Tips (2025)

With the ATP Finals wrapped up, it’s time to look ahead to another end-of-season tennis showpiece.

It is, of course, the Davis Cup. A rare instance where an individual sport becomes about the team, the Davis Cup has been competed for well over a century and remains a marquee event.

Davis Cup Betting Odds

Italy, who are facing Austria in the quarterfinals, are the tennis betting favourites at 13/8 to lift the Davis Cup. Spain are expected to be Italy’s nearest rivals at 2/1, with Germany at the next shortest price of 6/1.

Jannik Sinner’s decision to sit out the Davis Cup hasn’t been popular in Italy, but the hosts are still favourites. Italy have a strong team, led by Flavio Cobolli and Lorenzo Senego, and it’s worth noting Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz had a hamstring issue in the ATP Finals.

Spain and Germany (Alexander Zverev) are the only nations with truly elite players. Czech Republic’s strength in depth is impressive with Jiří Lehečka, Jakub Menšík, and Tomáš Macháč ranked 17th, 19th, and 32nd in the world, respectively.

Argentina are a dark horse, even if some price them as underdogs against Germany.

Doubles play, as ever, is key. Germany have one of the world’s best pairings, as do Italy, while other nations are relying heavily on their singles players to win matches and successfully switch to doubles play.

Where Are the Davis Cup Finals?

The finals stage of the 2025 Davis Cup is taking place in Bologna, Italy. It is the first time the competition has been held outside of Spain since 2018, with Italy looking to complete a three-peat in front of their home fans.

The last time the final took place in Italy was 1998 when Sweden defeated Italy in the final in Milan.

The Netherlands, Australia, Croatia, and Canada have finished as runners-up in the last five tournaments, but none of the quintet have reached the finals this time around.

How Do the Davis Cup Finals Work?

Seven of the eight teams booked their place through September’s Qualifiers Second Round. Host nation Italy were awarded an automatic spot as hosts and two-time defending champions.

Davis Cup ties are best-of-five earlier in the competition, but that shortens to a best-of-three for the finals. Nations play two singles matches against each other, followed by a decisive doubles match if they are tied at 1-1. A nation must win two matches to progress.

It is a straight knockout. Four quarter-final teams will progress to the semis, which will decide the two teams that compete in the final.

Davis Cup Schedule 2025

The quarter-finals of the 2025 Davis Cup take place between 18th and 20th November. Semi-finals follow on 21st and 22nd November, with the final falling on Sunday 23rd November.

Here are the four quarter-finals:
