Punchestown Horse Racing Tips – Saturday 22nd November 2025
Punchestown Racecourse hosts an unmissable two days of top-class jump racing as the Punchestown Premiere Weekend returns on Saturday and Sunday.
The fixture will features the highly anticipated Grade One double header – the Morgiana Hurdle and the John Durkan Memorial Chase.
The Morgiana Hurdle takes centre stage on Saturday, while Sunday’s card is headlined by the John Durkan Memorial Chase.
11.30am – 2m½f 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle
Henry De Bromhead’s MONT STAR is an interesting recruit to hurdling and is quietly fancied to land the opener.
Previously placed in the French provinces, the youngster should have potential over timber.
12.00pm – 2m3½f Maiden Hurdle (4yo)
Pointing recruit SOUND AS A BELL (NAP) can get his first run under rules off to a ding-dong start in this maiden hurdle.
Owned by JP McManus, the six lengths Quakerstown scorer will certainly know his job.
12.32pm – 2m3f Beginners Chase (4yo+)
JP owns several of the participants in this beginners chase, but it is the Ted Walsh-trained SHUFFLE THE PACK that interests me the most.
Twice a winner over hurdles last season, the youngster was a 3m Borris House winner in March 2024, so is no stranger to fences.
1.05pm – 3m Florida Pearl Novice Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+)
We really didn’t see the real NURBURGRING at the start of the month, and he can be given another chance in this Grade 2 feature.
Fourth in the Golden Miller at The Festival last March, form as exceptional as that should be good enough to trouble the judge again.
1.40pm – 2m5½f Handicap Chase (4yo+)
SA MAJESTE finished fourth in the Kim Muir at The Festival last March, and comes into this handicap as one of the leading sports betting principals on Saturday.
The seven-year-old took to the chasing game like a natural last term, and can progress again this season.
2.10pm – 2m½f Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+)
LOSSIEMOUTH is the one thy all have to beat in the Morgiana Hurdle.
The two-time Mares’ Hurdle winner was a surprise inclusion at the declaration stage with many expecting see Anzadam in the lineup, but Mullins has shifted his plans around somewhat.
The 159-rated hurdler should account for her three rivals in this Grade 1 affair, and will be a shortish price in our horse racing odds.
2.45pm – 2m3½f Qualifier Handicap Hurdle (4yo+)
SAINT LE FORT is the mount of Brian Hayes on Saturday and can be a factor in this handicap hurdle.
Fourth at Cork at the start of the month, the five-year-old registered his one and only race victory under Hayes and seems to perform well for him.
3.20pm – 2m½f Punchestown (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race (4yo+)
Young jockey Eoin Staples is having a great season so far, and his confidence will be sky high aboard the Gavin Cromwell-trained GRANDY LANE.
A head defeat to Gordon Elliott’s Panjandrum at Clonmel was nothing to be ashamed of, and they can make amends and land the odds today.
