Punchestown Horse Racing Tips – Sunday 23rd November 2025
Punchestown Racecourse hosts an unmissable two days of top-class jump racing as the Punchestown Premiere Weekend returns on Saturday and Sunday.
The fixture will features the highly anticipated Grade One double header – the Morgiana Hurdle and the John Durkan Memorial Chase.
The Morgiana Hurdle takes centre stage on Saturday, while Sunday’s card is headlined by the John Durkan Memorial Chase.
11.43pm – 3m½f Risk Of Thunder Chase (5yo+)
THE GOFFER loves it in this sphere and can put up a bold show over the banks.
Gordon Elliott’s eight-year-old comes here fresh from a PTP victory and is highly likely to be in the thick of things once again over this unique course.
Third in last year’s Topham Chase at Aintree, The Goffer is certainly one of the best jumpers in this line up.
12.13pm – 2m6f EBF Maiden Hurdle (5yo+)
Willie Mullins and Paul Townend team up here with the double-green owned GREEN SPLENDOUR who is bidding to get his hurdling career off the a flyer.
The Mount Nelson-gelding was the winner of the Open National Hunt Flat Race (Grade 2) at Aintree, and generally decent horses come out of that race. I can see him going off a fairly short price in the horse racing betting for this contest.
12.43pm – 2m1f Novice Handicap Hurdle (4yo+)
KOKITO BELLO can register back-to-back victories off a low weight in this novice handicap.
Philip Rothwell’s five-year-old won with something in hand at Thurles at the end of October, and off 10st, with a further 7lb jockey’s claim to be deducted, he’s hard to ignore in our sports betting.
1.17pm – 2m2f Mares Hurdle (Listed Race) (4yo+)
It will be FUN FUN FUN all the way if the mare with the same name obliges in this Listed affair.
The Munir and Souede-owned seven-year-old was in superb form at the end of last season and she is the stronger of the two Willie Mullins runners entered.
3m Pertemps Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (4yo+)
I could easily see a horse like BRAZIL getting to Cheltenham next March and landing the Pertemps Final.
He’s been knocking on the door of late and keeps finishing his races off to some effect. With that in mind, I’m recommending him as an each-way play here.
2.27pm – 2m Craddockstown Novice Chase (Grade 2) (4yo+)
Andrew Slattery’s FLEUR IN THE PARK (NAP) gave a real spanking to Tullyhill at Wexford last time, and the third horse home in that race went and franked the form on Friday.
Those are all great formlines, and he will be the horse they all have to beat in this Grade 2 Chase.
3.00pm – 2m3½f John Durkan Chase (Grade 1) (5yo+)
If FACT TO FILE is going to be throwing his hat into the ring for the Cheltenham Gold Cup this season, then he needs to winning a Grade 1 like this. He should have enough firepower on Sunday to do the job and odds of 5/4 look extremely fair.
3.35pm – 2m1f Pro/Am INH Flat Race (4yo+)
Well they always say back Willie’s in the last so DROMBANE has to be the selection.
His mother Whiteout was a winning machine and if he can emulate her, he’ll be doing well.
