ITV Racing Tips & Predictions – Sunday 7th December 2025
Huntingdon’s biggest fixture of the year takes place on Sunday, with the Peterborough Chase being the feature contest.
Joining Huntingdon on ITV on Sunday will be Kelso who will be hosting the Scottish Borders National Handicap Chase over 4m½f, plus there’s a couple of Graded affairs at Cork being shown too.
1.15pm Huntingdon – 2m Handicap Hurdle (3yo+ 0-125)
The Alan King stable is getting up a head of steam this month and his DON’T MIND IF I DO is a solid pick in the ITV opener.
Third at Aintree last month, the five-year-old should come on significantly for the run.
1.30pm Kelso – 3m Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (4yo+)
Donald McCain is the hot yard this week and 120-rated SKUNA BAY can make it a double after romping home at Bangor 25 days ago.
If he jumps with the same aplomb at Kelso, he’ll be a tough nut to crack.
1.45pm Huntingdon – 3m Handicap Chase (4yo+ 0-110)
Course and distance winner FERN HILL (NAP) is currently firing on all cylinders and can bring up his hat-trick today.
His wins at Uttoxeter and here have both been impressive and he is the worthy favourite in our sports betting.
2.00pm Kelso – 4m½f Scottish Borders National Handicap Chase (4yo+ 0-140)
Lucinda Russell is go to trainer when punting at Kelso, and her top-weighted CADELL can repel all raiders in this marathon chase.
On a chase rating of 137, he’s well ahead of the others and with any luck his stamina will last out.
2.15pm Cork – 3m½f Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) (4yo+)
The mare GOOD GIRL KATHLEEN has maintained her form well since late autumn and she must go close in this Grade 3 Hurdle. Trainer Emmet Mullins is a shrewd campaigner too.
2.37pm Kelso – 2m1f Handicap Chase (4yo+)
NELLS SON is a course and distance winner and appears to save his best for this racecourse.
Now considered a veteran, the eight-year-old is an eight-race career winner and is an all-round better jumper than most of these.
2.50pm Cork – 2m1f Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+)
FOUND A FIFTY dominated the Grade 2 Fortria Chase at Navan three weeks ago and can do so again in the Hilly Way.
Found wanting in the Champion Chase last March, this is much more his cup of tea and Gordon Elliott has placed him well.
3.00pm Huntingdon – 2m4f Peterborough Chase (Grade 2) (4yo+)
DJELO is a strong candidate to defend his Peterborough Chase crown at Huntingdon on Sunday afternoon.
Djelo was a dominant six-length winner of the Grade 2 Chase 12 months ago and kicked off this season with victory in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby. Improving all the time, Venetia Williams’ charge can jump them silly once more.
3.15pm Kelso – 2m Handicap Hurdle (3yo+ 0-140)
Donald McCain’s STATIC was less than static at Huntingdon on his last outing, running on late in the day and was unfortunate not to finish closer than what he did.
If he can follow that effort up today, he has to be worth an each-way play in our horse racing betting.
