F1 Championship Title Odds: Max Verstappen The Worst Result
Leading bookmaker William Hill have named Max Verstappen their worst result should he land the Drivers’ Championship at the F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Having accepted bets on Verstappen in August to land his fifth consecutive title at huge odds of 80/1, and with the majority of punters still supporting the Dutch driver at 5/2 going into the final race of the season, he is considered a significant liability. Fewer punters are coming in for Lando Norris at 1/3 despite his 12-point cushion.
Formula 1 Drivers Championship 2025 Odds:
- Lando Norris – 1/3
- Max Verstappen – 5/2
- Oscar Piastri – 12/1
The race itself is viewed as a head-to-head, with Verstappen and Norris alone taking up 74% of all stakes on Sunday’s race.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “It’s been a while since the season finale has held such impetus in an F1 season, with three drivers still in contention to land the Drivers’ Championship.
“No one anticipated Max Verstappen’s comeback, and having taken bets on him at 80/1 in August to land his fifth consecutive Drivers’ Championship, we could be heading to the pit lane should he manage to claw back the 12-point deficit on Sunday, as he’s by far our worst result in the outright market.
“Lando Norris is still our market leader at 1/3, but most of the bets are coming for Verstappen at 5/2, with those two raking in 74% of all stakes on Sunday’s race. Verstappen is 11/8 to win in Abu Dhabi with Norris (2/1) and Oscar Piastri (7/2) making up the top three.”
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Odds:
- Max Verstappen – 11/8
- Lando Norris – 2/1
- Oscar Piastri – 7/2
- Bar – 10/1
