League 1 Predictions

FOLLOWING the busy round of midweek action, our EFL League One clubs go full throttle again this weekend.

With so many fixtures scheduled in the next month, any team putting a good run together can force their way up to the business end of the table. Accordingly, League One betting activity is proving very popular.

Here are the pairings I am anticipating most alongside considered score predictions to guide your football betting

Cardiff City v Doncaster Rovers

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 1st versus 19th

Cardiff City preview – Four points clear in pole position after four straight EFL victories. Tuesday night’s 1-0 outcome for the promotion favourites at Stevenage in a top of the table clash was particularly impressive.

Callum Robinson’s thunderous half volley settled matters on 85 minutes. The Bluebirds are leading League One scorers on 32 whilst Yousef Salech is divisional joint foremost marksman amassing nine strikes.

Doncaster Rovers preview – Three defeats amid five League outings leave Donny hovering three points above that dreaded dotted relegation line.

Score prediction: Bluebirds boisterous 4-1.

Bradford City v Reading

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 2nd versus 17th

Bradford City preview – Filling second position four points behind Cardiff. Protecting three League games unbeaten capped by consecutive 1-0 wins before Tuesday evening’s postponement at Port Vale due to a waterlogged pitch.

Only one home loss throughout 2025/26 which was 2-1 against Burton Albion on Saturday 8th November.

Reading preview – A three point cushion on relegation danger. Tuesday’s 2-1 home setback at the hands of Peterborough United terminated the Royals’ five match undefeated EFL sequence.

Score prediction: Bradford City bedazzling 2-0.

Blackpool v Lincoln City

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 22nd versus 3rd

Blackpool preview – Embroiled in a desperate relegation struggle where Wednesday’s surprise 3-0 victory at Rotherham United took them a point off the survival region. Home form is symmetrical – three wins, three draws and three defeats.

Lincoln City preview – Three victories across four EFL games leave the Imps outside those automatic promotion spots on goal difference. Lincoln haven’t graced English football’s second tier since 1960/61.

Score prediction: Jittery 1-1.

Stockport County v Stevenage

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 4th versus 6th

Stockport County preview – A massive contest in the Play-Off zone. Fourth placed Stockport sit one point and two rungs ahead of their imminent opponents. Tuesday’s 2-0 triumph at Doncaster Rovers ended County’s three match EFL streak lacking wins.

Stevenage preview – Nursing that aforementioned 1-0 home reverse against pacesetters Cardiff City. It leaves Boro holding one win in eight League and Cup attempts. But they boast the division’s tightest defensive rearguard having been breached merely 12 times overall.

Score prediction: Classic 3-3.

Bolton Wanderers v Exeter City

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 5th versus 20th

Bolton Wanderers preview – Occupying fifth position and three points beneath automatic promotion contention.

Six unbeaten League engagements for the Trotters culminating in Tuesday’s 1-0 success at Mansfield Town. They remain unconquered at home during 2025/26 EFL affairs racking up six victories and three draws.

Exeter City preview – One point over the relegation area and battling much publicised financial concerns. Their 1-0 midweek home win against AFC Wimbledon signalled a first maximum pointer within four EFL encounters.

Score prediction: Trotters trot on 1-0.

Luton Town v Port Vale

  • Kick-off: 3pm
  • Rankings: 7th versus 24th

Luton Town preview – Three points shy of Play-Off discussions. The Hatters’ last seven EFL games returned three wins, three draws and one defeat. Therefore fortunes certainly picking up beyond Jack Wilshere being unveiled as manager on 13th October.

Port Vale preview – Rock bottom some six points short of safety. Eight winless League games losing five of the past six. Yet fresh from two successive home Cup victories accompanied by clean sheets.

Even so, Vale boss Darren Moore features heavily in League One sack race odds. Furthermore 11 goals scored is this division’s lowest tally.

Score prediction: Luton lively 5-0 and Moore dismissed on Saturday night.
