Barrow v Cheltenham Town

Barrow preview: Managerless and with only one win in ten, things appear bleak for the Bluebirds, but six draws since October suggests their underdog spirit is still alive and kicking.

Cheltenham preview: The Robins have tough fixtures ahead so this represents their best chance of pulling away from the relegation reckoning before 2024 is through.

Regrettably, a draw feels like the likeliest outcome between two teams separated only by goal difference. It might not be a classic for League 2 betting punters to follow.

Cambridge United v Accrington Stanley

Cambridge preview: The U’s resilience was praised last time out but mentioned too was their inability to finish sides off.

Just one of their trio of chances were taken last weekend at MK Dons and pertinently Neil Harris’ men have scored only two goals more than rock-bottom Newport.

Stanley preview: John Doolan’s Reds are on an upcurve, unbeaten in five and not breached for three and a half hours. In hindsight, their mid-October thrashing of Swindon has proven to be the making of them.

Crewe Alexandra v Bristol Rovers

Crewe preview: Crewe’s thumping victory at Prenton Park last Saturday arrested a mini-slide that saw them winless in four yet still score liberally.

In fact, their prolificacy is the way to go here. The Railwaymen have bagged 2.3 goals per 90 across their last seven outings and they are a must consider for football betting punters.

Bristol Rovers preview: The appointment of Steve Evans at the Memorial Stadium puts a different slant to this fixture but it would be wrong to believe fundamental issues can be immediately resolved via a rousing team-talk and a tweak to their tactics.

The Gas have lost ten in a row, scoring only three times in that period. If they improve it will come courtesy of a slow recovery, not a ‘new manager bounce’.
