Premier League Predictions & News
Premier League Betting Tips for Saturday 3rd January
This midweek will see the Premier League get underway for Gameweek twenty of this campaign, with the table starting to take shape and a few teams already upsetting the apple cart, we’re all set for another weekend of pure PL drama.
@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..
The Premier League will get underway for it’s first weekend of action in 2026 on Saturday, with four games taking place up and down the country.
We head to Villa Park for the first game of the weekend, where Aston Villa take on Nottingham Forest and 12.30pm.
Later that afternoon, Burnley head to the south coast to take on Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolves will be hoping for their first win of the season when they welcome fellow strugglers West Ham.
Saturday’s action will conclude with the league leaders Arsenal taking on Bournemouth on the south coast at 5.30pm.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 12.30pm
Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest with William Hill
- Aston Villa’s eleven game winning streak came to an end on Tuesday night after a 4-1 defeat away the league leaders Arsenal, not only did it end a historic run for Unai Emery’s side, it was also a bit of a reality check in terms of their title hopes.
- The Villans return to familiar surroundings which will be very much welcomed given they’ve won each of their last ten home games in all competitions, they have the chance to make it eleven in a row for the first time since 1990.
- Villa are unbeaten in their last nine home games against Nottingham Forest with their last defeat in this meeting at Villa Park coming back in 1994, whilst only twice since the start of 2023-24 have they lost consecutive league games.
——————————–———————— - Nottingham Forest travel to Villa Park off the back of three consecutive defeats in the Premier League, the Tricky Trees are now just four points from the drop with questions started to be asked about Sean Dyche despite a strong start just a few weeks ago.
- Nottingham Forest have seen just two of their nine Premier League games produce both teams to score away from home, the fact they’ve scored in just four of those games suggests they could struggle to find the net in this one.
- No team have failed to score in more different Premier League games this season than Nottingham Forest, only Wolves have scored fewer goals than the Tricky Trees, i’m going to back Aston Villa to bounce back on Saturday and to win with a clean sheet.
Prediction: Aston Villa To Win To Nil, Aston Villa 2-0 Nottingham Forest.
Brighton v Burnley – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Brighton v Burnley with William Hill
- Having put together a four game unbeaten run in November, Brighton struggled in December having drawn three and lost three, most recently a 2-2 draw with West Ham on Tuesday night, a result which keeps them in the bottom half of the table.
- December always tends to be difficult for the Seagulls, they are winless in their last twelve Premier League games in December (D7 L5) since beating Spurs 4-2 in 2023, so Fabian Hurzeler will be happy to get stuck into January and will be hoping his side can finally kick on.
- History suggests the Seagull’s will do just that having lost their first league game in just one of the last 16 calendar years. Having said that, Brighton have won none of their previous six Premier League meetings here against the Clarets.
——————————–———————— - Burnley will start 2026 in the bottom three having picked up just three wins from their first nineteen games since returning to the Premier League, they head to the south coast off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Newcastle on Tuesday night.
- Scott Parker‘s side have won just one away game in the league this season, only Wolves have taken less points away from home than the Clarets, with Scott Parker starting to feel the pressure ahead of this fixture.
- This is a tough one to call because on paper it should really be a straight forward win for Brighton but when you dig deep into the stats and see that ten of the last fifteen meetings between these two sides have ended level, it’s hard to ignore and therefore i’m backing against the odds and going for a stalemate.
Prediction: Draw, Brighton 1-1 Burnley.
Wolves v West Ham – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Wolves v West Ham with William Hill
- Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League table and remain the only side that are still yet to pick up three points so far, with the Old Gold now fifteen points from safety, it’s almost certain they’ll be returning to the EFL Championship next season.
- This Wolves side are winless in their last twenty-three games in the league but return to Molineux on Saturday afternoon having taken an unexpected but deserved point off Manchester United on Tuesday night, maybe there is some fight in this side after all.
- Wolves have lost 26 Premier League games in 2025, equalling the most losses suffered by a club in a calendar year in the competition, defeat here would mean they’d trail West Ham (18th) by fourteen points, it could all but seal relegation even at this early stage.
——————————–———————— - West Ham are another side in real danger, without a win in their last eight games following a draw here against Brighton on Tuesday, the Hammers are slowly slipping closer and closer to relegation, they now sit four points from safety after the first nineteen games.
- The Hammers start 2026 on the road and it’s really not ideal given they’ve won just one of their first nine league games away from home but they’ve lost their opening league game in just one of the last eight years (W4 D3).
- These two sides played out a cracker in the EFL Cup back in August (Wolves 3-2), i’m expecting more drama in this one but separating the two sides is hard, so i’m backing both teams to get themselves on the scoresheet but to share the points.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Wolves 2-2 West Ham.
Bournemouth v Arsenal – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Arsenal with William Hill
- It’s been a terrible few weeks for Bournemouth after an unbelievable start to the season seems to be a distant memory already, the Cherries enter Matchday twenty just three places above the drop having not won any of their last ten Premier League games.
- It’s been a tough campaign already for Andoni Iraola’s side but they’ll be looking for a much better 2026 and a 2-2 draw away at Chelsea on Tuesday is a good foundation to build on for the Cherries, although a visit from the league leaders isn’t an ideal start to the year.
- Bournemouth actually completed the double over Arsenal last season but it’s still the visitors that dominate this fixtures over the years, having won four of their last six visits to this ground, the Cherries haven’t won here since October.
——————————–———————— - Arsenal have already won both of their fixtures since the Christmas break, the Gunners faced a tough test against Aston Villa on Tuesday night but made light work of Unai Emery’s side with a 4-1 victory to keep their spot at the top of the table.
- Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking to become the first Arsenal side since 2004 to win the Premier League title and they really do look the part so far, having lost just one of their last sixteen Premier League games (W12 D3).
- The Gunners have scored at least two goals in five of their last seven meetings against Bournemouth, i don’t think this will be an easy three points for Arsenal but i do feel like they’ll make the most of this poor run from the home side and take another three points.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Arsenal To Win, Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal.
