UFC 324 Predictions

| BY News Team

UFC is back with another blockbuster night this weekend as UFC 324 takes centre stage in Las Vegas.

The card is headlined by a mouth-watering lightweight interim title bout between two of the UFC’s biggest names. British fighter Paddy Pimblett will take on Justin Gaethje of the United States in the final fight of the night.

They are not the only big names on the card, however, with Sean O’Malley taking on Song Yadong. Derrick Lewis is another star in action, but he’s the 13/5 underdog against the UFC Heavyweight No.5, Waldo Cortes-Acosta (2/7).

Let’s take a closer look at the big fights from UFC 324.

Paddy Pimblett vs Justin Gaethje

Paddy Pimblett is the 4/9 favourite for his lightweight clash with Justin Gaethje, underlining how strongly his upward trajectory and stylistic advantages are being respected.

Pimblett’s rise has been built on controlled aggression, opportunistic grappling and an improving ability to manage high-pressure moments. Against Gaethje, his path to victory centres on pace, variety and forcing the fight into phases where his submission threat becomes a genuine factor.

Gaethje, priced at 7/4, remains a dangerous underdog given his power and elite-level experience. His leg kicks and forward pressure are well known, but this matchup hinges on whether he can keep the fight standing for long periods. Pimblett’s clinch work, body-lock entries and willingness to initiate scrambles give him multiple routes to control rounds, particularly if he can neutralise Gaethje’s early aggression.

Over three rounds, Pimblett’s durability and composure are expected to play a key role. While Gaethje’s knockout threat keeps him live throughout, Pimblett’s ability to absorb pressure and turn momentum through grappling exchanges explains his position at the head of the market. If the fight extends beyond the opening exchanges, the favourite is well placed to wear Gaethje down, either setting up a submission opportunity or securing rounds through sustained control.

For Gaethje to overturn the prices, he likely needs a fast start and consistent damage on the feet. If Pimblett settles into his rhythm, the balance of probabilities shifts firmly in favour of the Liverpool fighter making another statement win at UFC 324.

Sean O’Malley vs Song Yadong

Sean O’Malley enters his bout with Song Yadong as the 1/2 favourite, and the pricing reflects his striking accuracy, reach advantage and ability to control distance. O’Malley’s style is built around timing and shot selection, and when he dictates range, he is among the most difficult fighters in the division to outstrike.

Song Yadong presents a very different challenge. His forward pressure, physicality and willingness to exchange make him dangerous if he can back O’Malley towards the fence. Song’s power gives him a live chance, particularly in the earlier rounds, but over three rounds O’Malley’s movement and composure are expected to tell. A decision or late TKO for the favourite appears the most likely outcome if he avoids extended brawls.
