Cristiano Ronaldo could be set for an emotional return to boyhood club Sporting Lisbon, according to the latest odds from William Hill.
The Portuguese giants lead the way at 7/2 to secure the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo, pointing to a potential return to where his professional career began 24 years ago.
Manchester United are next in the market at 6/1 to see Ronaldo return for a third stint at Old Trafford, with another of his former sides Real Madrid priced at 8/1.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “There has been a lot of recent speculation about the next clubs for both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and the betting suggests fans could see a pair of fairytale homecomings.
“Sporting Lisbon are 7/2 favourites to see Ronaldo return to where the Portuguese star began his professional career, while several of his former sides feature prominently in the market, with Manchester United 6/1, ahead of Real Madrid (8/1) and Juventus (12/1) to see their former star return this summer.”
A return to Old Trafford would see Ronaldo become one of the oldest players in Premier League history but could he hold his own in the top flight of English football? It’ll be interesting to see if the latest rumours of a romantic return amount to anything in the coming months.
