Championship Predictions – Tuesday 10th February 2026

EFL Championship Ball

A TRUNCATED programme of midweek action lies ahead for our EFL Championship clubs.

But there is still avid interest for Championship betting aficionados due to twists and turns galore in the promotion, Play-Offs and relegation issues.

Here are the pairings alongside considered score predictions to assist your football betting

Leicester City v Southampton

  • Kick-off: 7.45pm

Leicester City preview – Two sides relegated from the Premier League together last year. Both were widely expected to challenge for immediate automatic promotion in light of their respective parachute payments yet it has not been the case.

Leicester are coming under increasing scrutiny following the 25th January departure of boss Marti Cifuentes. They received a six point deduction on Thursday for breaching financial rules. This plunges the Foxes into an end of season relegation battle.

Leicester therefore hover above the dreaded dotted relegation line on goal difference compounded by a dismal five match Championship run where one measly point was recorded. Andy King continues in caretaker charge.

Southampton preview – Similarly underachieving. Saints would now be happy to make a sustained push for the four points needed to reach Play-Off discussions. They’ve won three out of four unbeaten EFL games conceding one goal during that sequence.

Score prediction: Saints alive 2-0.

Oxford United v Norwich City

  • Kick-off: 7.45pm

Oxford United preview – Four points shy of survival after one victory among eight League encounters. But they can take great heart from Saturday’s spirited scoreless draw away to the leaders Coventry City despite going down to 10 men when U’s striker Will Lankshear was sent-off on 77 minutes.

Oxford United boss Matt Bloomfield said afterwards: “My players showed tremendous grit and determination today. I am incredibly proud of their resilience coming to a team top of the table. It is a really good point especially with keeping a clean sheet.”

He must improve on merely three home EFL wins throughout 2025/26 though.

Norwich City preview – Five victories amid six League and Cup engagements move the Canaries four points clear of relegation danger.

Saturday’s 2-0 home success over struggling Blackburn Rovers came courtesy of late strikes by Anis Ben Slimane (73 minutes) and debutant Mohamed Toure (78 mins). Fortunes certainly prospering beyond the head coach appointment of Philippe Clement in November.

Score prediction: Miserable 0-0.

Birmingham City v West Bromwich Albion

  • Kick-off: 8pm

Birmingham City preview – Local bragging rights at stake between two rivals based less than six miles apart as the crow flies. Blues lie two points below Play-Off participation enjoying a seven match undefeated streak across all competitions.

In fact, it is 14 points accrued inside six EFL contests. Their single home Championship loss this season was 3-2 versus Hull City on Saturday 18th October.

West Bromwich Albion preview – One point above relegation peril nursing seven winless League affairs. Indeed, Baggies boss Eric Ramsay continues to seek his first victory since being installed on 11th January.

Score prediction: Blues brilliant 4-0.
