Indian Wells Open Quarter Finals: Top Names In Action As Tournament Heats Up

| BY Sam Cox

We’re onto the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Open. Some big names have fallen, but the tournament favourites are still going strong with Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Aryna Sabalenka all in action.

Here are our tennis betting picks:

Jannik Sinner vs Learner Tien

Learner Tien has overcome Ben Shelton and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in three-set duels to reach the last eight. The American now faces Jannik Sinner, who got through his biggest test of the tournament with a pair of tiebreak wins over Joao Fonseca.

The only previous meeting between these players was a final in Beijing last year. Sinner won that match 6-2, 6-2.

Tien’s impressive showing at this tournament shouldn’t be overlooked, but this is still a complete mismatch.

Pick: Jannik Sinner -5.5 games (Evens)

Carlos Alcaraz vs Cam Norrie

After going to three sets with Arthur Rinderknech, Carlos Alcaraz controlled his match with Casper Ruud from start to finish. The Spaniard has been in imperious form over the last six months.

Cam Norrie is yet to drop a set in this tournament and beat Alex de Minaur in the round of 32. It’s notable the Brit has won three of his last five matches against Alcaraz and hasn’t lost to Alcaraz on a hard court since 2022.

It’s not been the best start to 2026 for Norrie, but he seems to have found his groove in Indian Wells. He can at least play two competitive sets and has a real chance of forcing a third.

Pick: Over 18.5 games (8/13)

Aryna Sabalenka vs Victoria Mboko

Victoria Mboko’s reward for straight sets wins over Anna Kalinskaya and Amanda Anisimova is a matchup with world number one Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka has lost a grand total of 17 games across her first three tournament matches in this tournament.

Mboko has only faced Sabalenka once before. A harrowing 6-1 loss in the first set was followed by a tiebreak defeat in the second at this year’s Australian Open.

While the teenage Canadian is an ascending talent, beating Sabalenka is probably out of her reach at this point. Her success on opponent second serves gives her a chance of taking a set if Sabalenka has a subpar serving day.

Pick: Both players to win a set (7/4)

Jessica Pegula vs Elena Rybakina

Elena Rybakina was on course to beat Sonay Kartal when the Brit had to retire. Jessica Pegula got a routine straight sets win over Belinda Bencic after being pushed to three sets in each of the first two rounds.

Pegula has won three of her seven matches against Rybakina, but she lost this contest at the Australian Open and hasn’t beaten the Kazakhstani star since 2023.

Both of these players can dominate when they are getting their first serve in. Don’t be surprised if every set goes deep.

Pick: Over 22.5 games (17/20)
