Gavin Cromwell’s William Hill blog: Irish & Aintree Grand National teams confirmed
William Hill ambassador Gavin Cromwell confirms his team for the Irish and Aintree Grand National, also offering a preview of this weekend’s racing.
Irish & Aintree Grand National teams confirmed
We have a few entries across both the Irish and Aintree Grand Nationals, with some horses in both. I’d say our likely team for the Irish National now will be Stumptown, Yeah Man and The Lovely Man, if he gets in. He’s just on the border, but if he gets in then he’ll take his chance.
The plan is for Now Is The Hour and Final Orders both to go to Aintree, along with Perceval Legallois.
Weekend runners
Born Braver is another with an entry in the Irish Grand National, but he won’t take that up as we have him in the Ulster National on Sunday (Downpatrick, 16:27). I think he could run well there. He seems in good form and I’m hopeful that he’ll run a big race.
On the same card, we also run two in the Series Final Handicap Hurdle (15:52), which is a lovely pot for that grade of race. Both Bergamasquo and Take Stock have been disappointing this season. They started off with good runs in maidens and just haven’t built on them.
They’re in handicap company and hopefully they’ll find there level here. They seem to be working well at home and I’m just hoping they can run well on the day having disappointed so far this season.
