Rivalries Reign Supreme as Merseyside, Manchester and North London Derbies Light Up the WSL
Both Teams To Score at 8/11 in the Merseyside derby looks good, as does a 3-1 victory for Manchester City at 12/1, whilst Arsenal to win & four or more goals at 7/5 seems like good value given the history of this fixture, all priced with William Hill.

The Women’s Super League will offer up three mouth-watering derbies on Saturday starting on Merseyside at noon, with Everton Women taking on Liverpool Women.
Later on Saturday, Manchester United and Manchester City will battle it out for three points and the bragging rights at Old Trafford, whilst we end the WSL action with a North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Women’s Super League odds and betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Everton Women v Liverpool Women – Saturday, 12pm
View all available markets at William Hill
- Everton Women return to Goodison Park looking to bounce back from their late defeat in Leigh last weekend against Manchester United (2-1), that remains their only defeat in their last five WSL games (W4).
- The Toffees sit in sixth on goal-difference and six points above their rivals Liverpool but they’ll be looking for a bit of revenge having suffered a defeat to the Reds in the FA Cup last month, the Blues are 2/1 with William Hill to win this Merseyside derby.
- As we know, form tends to go out of the window in these derby games but Everton have won the last two league meetings between the pair, including an emphatic 4-1 victory at Anfield back in September during the opening weekend.
——————————–———————— - Following two wins and a draw in their last three outings in all competitions, Liverpool are looking to extend their mini-run of form to four goals with a victory in the Merseyside derby on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park.
- Despite a victory in the FA Cup for Gareth Taylor’s side last month, the Reds haven’t beat Everton in the league since May 2019 which is quite incredible, Liverpool are 11/10 to win here with William Hill on the ‘2 up’ market.
- Both teams have found the back of the net in both meetings between the pair this season in all competitions, i’ll back the same on Saturday but i’m finding it hard to separate the rivals, therefore i’ll back a score draw.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score (8/11), Everton 1-1 Liverpool (11/2).
Manchester United Women v Manchester City Women – Saturday, 1.30pm
See the latest odds on this match
- Manchester United suffered late heartbreak in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night having lost 3-2 against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford, although boss Marc Skinner still believes the tie is up for grabs in the second leg.
- That could well be the case but there’s definitely a bit of concern around United at the moment given the fact they are missing some key players which seems to have played its part in the fact the Red Devils have now won just one of their last five games in all competitions, they are 14/5 to win this and claim derby day bragging rights.
- Manchester United enter this Manchester derby second in the Women’s Super League but trail Manchester City by eight points, this is a huge game for the red side of the city if they are to keep up their title dreams.
——————————–———————— - A 5-2 thumping victory against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend moved Manchester City closer to picking up their first league title since 2016, the Blues will be hoping to replicate their 3-0 victory from the reverse fixture back in November.
- Andrée Jeglertz’ side have lost just two of their eighteen league games this season, however both of which have come on the road, William Hill make Manchester City favourites for this one at 10/11 to win.
- We could be in for goals at Old Trafford on Saturday given Manchester City have seen three or more goals in fourteen of their eighteen league games, whilst eight of the last nine competitive meetings have produced over 2.5 goals.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score and Over/Under 2.5 Goals (EVS), Manchester United 1-3 Manchester City (12/1).
Arsenal Women v Tottenham Women – Saturday, 5.30pm
Think there’s value? See the current price at William Hill
- Arsenal Women return to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening just days after beating Chelsea here in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg, that victory extended their winning run to ten games in all competitions.
- Renée Slegers’ side haven’t lost a league game since October and can still count themselves in with a chance of the winning the WSL title, they sit fourth and eleven points behind Manchester City but they do have two games in hand, they are 1/4 to win this one with William Hill.
- These two sides played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture back in November but Arsenal tend to dominate this fixture, having won five of the last eight league games between the pair (L1, D2).
——————————–———————— - Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Emirates Stadium just six points behind their rivals Arsenal but having lost both of their last two league outings including last weekends 5-2 thumping against Manchester City.
- Martin Ho will be hoping his side can upset the odds in this North London derby and end Arsenal’s sixteen game unbeaten record on home soil, William Hill have Spurs priced at 9/1 to take all three points on Saturday.
- It’s hard to put a case together in this one for Tottenham Hotspur other than it being a derby, but the Gunners are flying at the moment and have all the momentum, i’m backing Arsenal to extend their winning run on at home.
Prediction: Match Result and 4 or More Goals in the Match – Arsenal (7/5), Arsenal 4-1 Tottenham Hotspur (14/1).
