With just two months until the 2026 World Cup gets underway, Scotland are the worst liability for William Hill with a total of 3% of all outright tournament winner bets on the Scots at 150/1.
Steve Clarke’s side have been drawn alongside five-time World Cup winners Brazil, 2022 semi-finalists Morocco and Haiti in Group C and Scottish football fans will be hoping for the shock of all shocks.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps said: “With the full quota of 48 teams now qualified, it’s full steam ahead to the World Cup and we can reveal that it’s Scotland that are out worst result on the book as things stand.
“While Steve Clarke’s side are big outsiders at 150/1 to lift the World Cup, 3% of all outright bets have been on the Scots and that has seen them become a serious liability.
“Elsewhere, the patriotic pound has seen 15% of bets placed on England (6/1), with Germany accounting for 13% of bets, tournament favourites Spain (9/2) 11% and France (6/1) 10%.
“European nations lead the way in terms of percentage of bets, with Brazil (8/1) and Argentina (8/1) both accounting for just 6% of bets each.”
While England are teetering and squad selection odds fluctuating, Scotland’s chances remain relatively stable. They are outsiders, yes, but you’ve got to be in it to win it…
