Fairyhouse Tips Sunday: Day 2 Predictions At The 2026 Irish Grand National Meeting
Three unforgettable days of thrilling National Hunt racing take place every Easter at Fairyhouse during their Irish Grand National meeting.
This year there will be non-stop festivities over the coming days, and here we take a focus on Sunday’s races – so check out the latest horse racing betting market on Ireland’s leading meeting over the Easter period.
1.30pm – 2m½f Maiden Hurdle
Noel Meade’s COLCANNON has threatened to score this term and the easing in the ground should see the six-year-old to good effect.
The 125-rated hurdler can go well at decent odds today.
2.05pm – 2m4f Novice Handicap Hurdle
DOCTOR ELVIS (NB) could well turn out to be the king of all wagers on Sunday afternoon in this handicap hurdle.
Gordon Elliott’s charge has been close in his last two maidens, and he’s favorably treated in this, his very first handicap.
2.40pm – 2m Novice Hurdle (Grade 2)
LE LABO (NAP) made it third-time-lucky when bagging the Grade 3 Kingsfurze Novice Hurdle at Naas a month ago, and he can put it up to the powerful Mullins and Elliott stables at Fairyhouse.
It seems a long time since the Mount Nelson-gelding was a strong fancy for the Aintree bumper last April, and only now is he is finally realising his potential.
3.15pm – 2m4f Novice Hurdle (Grade 2)
Barry Connell has trained a few horses for Tim O’Driscoll down the years and their runner KSAR FATAL is a strong contender for this Grade 2 prize.
A comfortable winner of a maiden hurdle at Punchestown at the end of February, this winning pointer is turning into a force to be reckoned with.
3.50pm – 2m4f Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 1)
Some of these mares have had a long hard season, but Jamie Snowden’s A PATH TO RONDA has continuously maintained her form throughout the whole campaign.
Last seen winning at Kelso at the end of February, the six-year-old grey deserves her place in this line up, and in what looks a very winnable end of season Graded contest
4.25pm – 2m½f Novice Handicap Chase (Listed Race)
Ian Patrick Donaghue’s BREAK MY SOUL has been holding his own in top level company, and he ran an absolute corker at the Cheltenham Festival to finish a very close third in the Grand Annual.
A repeat of that performance would see him trouble the judge here at a backable each-way price.
5.00pm – 2m4f WillowWarm Gold Cup (Grade 1)
Gordon Elliott’s KALA CONTI gets a useful mares’ allowance in this esteemed Easter feature and she can hopefully make the most of it.
After two empathic chase victories at Cork in November and December, she was forced to play second fiddle to Sixmilebridge in the Scilly Isles Chase. At odds of 16/1 in our market, she’s too big a price to ignore and can run the favourite close.
5.30pm – 3m1f Hunter Chase
He may have some current form figures that resemble Scrabble tiles, but BIG INTEREST is actually a very interesting candidate for this Hunter Chase.
The seven-year-old is a course and distance winner, and he also appears to be a spring horse, having run some of his best races around this corresponding period last year.
David Christie is a top trainer in this sphere, and I can see Big Interest belying his odds in the sports betting.
