Harry Kane new Ballon d’Or favourite
England and Bayern striker (5/2 from 10/3) overtakes Lamine Yamal (11/4) in betting
Harry Kane is the new outright favourite with William Hill to win this year’s Ballon d’Or after leapfrogging Lamine Yamal in the betting last night.
The England striker was a 10/3-shot to win the 2026 award before Bayern Munich’s Champions League victory at Real Madrid on Tuesday evening but has seen his odds knocked down to 5/2, now a shade shorter than Yamal (11/4).
Michael Olise also delivered on the big stage for the Bavarians and the Frenchman is 15/2 from 14/1 for the award, placing him fifth in the market behind Declan Rice (5/1) and Kylian Mbappe (6/1).

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “There’s been another shake up in our Ballon d’Or market, with Harry Kane wrestling favouritism away from Lamine Yamal in what appears to be a two-horse race for the award.
“Kane’s odds of 10/3 pre-game last night have been cut to 5/2 after his second-half strike, seeing him leapfrog Yamal again in the betting, whose Barcelona side play tonight.
“Another big mover in the market is Michael Olise, who added again to his huge haul of assists this season and now trades at 15/2, down from 14/1 yesterday.”
