1000 Guineas Tips: Inis Mor Tops Best Bets At Newmarket On Sunday
William Hill News horse racing tipster Steve Mullington casts his eye over all the action on 1000 Guineas day at Newmarket.
Sunday sees the 1,000 Guineas Stakes take place at Newmarket. The Classic race is open to three-year-old fillies and is run on the Rowley Mile racecourse over a distance of one mile.
Newmarket Tips 1000 Guineas Day:
- 1.45pm – LILT
- 2.20pm – SURVIE (NAP)
- 2.55pm – MANY MEN (NB)
- 3.35pm – INIS MOR
- 4.10pm – DONNA BEAUTY
- 4.45pm – BEAUTY FOR LOVE
- 5.20pm – STUDY OF WORDS
Our horse racing expert Steven Mullington guides you through the seven-race spectacular:
1.45 – 1m2f Pretty Polly Stakes (Listed)
The William Haggas-trained LILT won a seven furlong novice stakes at Doncaster on 24th October 2025 on soft ground, but I suspect that isn’t really his favoured ground.
The Lope De Vega-filly will be ably assisted in the saddle by the yard’s retained jockey Tom Marquand.
2.20 – 1m1f Dahlia Stakes (Group 2)
Now with trainer George Boughey, SURVIE (NAP) has top-tier French form in the can, including a second-place finish in the 2024 Prix de Diane at Chantilly.
Connections are expecting her to thrive over this 1m1f trip under Ryan Moore, and it is easy to see why. At odds of 5/1 in our horse racing betting, she represents excellent value.
2.55 – 1m6f Heritage Handicap
MANY MEN (NB) was last seen finishing 4th of 6 in the Listed Goliath Cup at Musselburgh on 4 April.
This of course is a much easier handicap and the four-year-old has done well at this racecourse in the past. He’s an each-way play all day long.
3.35 – 1m 1000 Guineas Stakes (Group 1)
After the Nell Gwyn Stakes I was of the view that if INIS MOR could settle better from an improved draw, she must have some sort of each-way shout in the 1000 Guineas.
Deemed good enough as a two-year-old to run in the Haras de Bouquetot Criterium d’Automne at ParisLongchamp on Arc weekend, she put up a bold show over the mile trip to just get touched off by Cape Orator. At 20/1 in our sports betting she cannot be ignored.
4.10 – 5f Fillies’ Novice Stakes
Bought for 40,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year, DONNA BEAUTY makes her racecourse debut today.
Sired by the top sprinter Starspangledbanner out of the German mare Good Donna, owner Jaber Abdullah appears to have made yet another smart purchase.
4.45 – 5f Novice Stakes
By the elite sprinter Blue Point, BEAUTY FOR LOVE can make his mark in this sprint division at the first time of asking.
The 130,000 euros yearling has four winning siblings already, so the omens look good for the Charlie Johnston-trained youngster.
5.20 – 1m2f World Pool Handicap
Derby hopeful STUDY OF WORDS puts his reputation on the line in the closing race of the three-days Guineas meeting.
The Godolphin-owned colt was last seen romping home here in a 1m2f Maiden Stakes, landing the spoils by 15 lengths and justifying his 1/7 starting price.
He’ll be no such price today but is one for your accumulators and exotics.
