A strong end to the season for Grimsby put them into the top seven but only just, with a 2 point gap to Barnet in 8th. The Mariners have now lost just one of their last thirteen home games in the league, whilst they’ve already completed the double over Salford in this campaign.
Salford City will be kicking themselves after drawing 0-0 against struggling Crawley on the final day, a draw which meant The Ammies missed out on an automatic promotion spot and will now have to do it the hard way. Karl Robinson will be hoping his side can take something back to Moor Lane to defend next week but having won just one of their last six meetings with Grimsby Town, this is a tough test.
