A disappointing campaign in the WSL has seen Liverpool Women lose twelve of their twenty-one games this season, leaving the Reds just one place above Leicester Women at the bottom of the table, albeit eight points clear with just one game left to play. In the FA Cup, Liverpool have overcome London Bees, Everton and most recently Charlton to set up this semi-final tie.
Brighton Women have had a much better WSL campaign, sitting sixth on twenty-six points and now unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions, including a 2-0 victory in the previous round against Arsenal despite being the huge underdogs but they’ve won none of their last eight meetings against Liverpool.
