Burnham given 91% chance of outlasting Starmer as PM
Andy Burnham is the overwhelming favourite with William Hill to serve longer as UK Prime Minister than Keir Starmer, with the former Greater Manchester Mayor priced at just 1/10 to enjoy a longer spell in Downing Street.
While Burnham would first need to win the Labour leadership and become Prime Minister, he is prohibitively short at 1/100 to be the UK’s next PM.
Elsewhere, Burnham is priced at 1/2 to remain in office longer than Boris Johnson’s three years and 45 days as Prime Minister, while odds of 10/1 are available on him surpassing Tony Blair’s decade-long tenure in Number 10.
Next Prime Minister
- Andy Burnham – 1/100
- Angela Rayner – 25/1
- Darren Jones – 25/1
- Ed Miliband – 25/1
- Alistair Cairns – 25/1
- Any Other Candidate – 33/1

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “While Andy Burnham still has to become Labour leader, it’s seen as a matter of when rather than if by most, and we’re 1/100 that he becomes the next UK Prime Minister following Keir Starmer.
“If Burnham’s rise to power becomes a reality, with a price of 1/10, we think there’s every likelihood that he outlasts Starmer’s two-year tenure, while it’s 10/1 that he becomes the longest serving Labour Prime Minister by exceeding Tony Blair’s 10 years in power.”
