ITV Racing Tips: Best Bets From William Hill News On Saturday 15th August 2026
It’s a packed ITV schedule on Saturday, presenting betting opportunities aplenty.
ITV Racing has eight live races on their scheduling this Saturday, with Newbury providing the lion’s share of the action, alongside the William Hill sponsored races at Ripon and some competitive contests at Newmarket.
Our horse racing expert Steven Mullington guides you through all the television races:
1.25 Newbury – 1m5½f Geoffrey Freer Stakes (Group 3)
GAMRAI has been sent to this race as an alternative option by trainer George Scott instead of heading straight to the York Ebor meeting.
This is a significant move in my opinion and there is no way the four-year-old should be trading as a 20/1 shot in our horse racing betting.
Second in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot, owners Victorious Forever have recently switched their horse to Scott from the Gosden’s.
1.55 Newbury – 5f Handicap
GLAMOROUS BREEZE ran a stormer to come third in a bunched finish at Glorious Goodwood in a 23-runner handicap.
The mare is already a 10-time scorer and it’s hard to see her finishing out of the frame while she is in this rich vein of form.
2.10 Newmarket – 6f Handicap
You sure do need to back STRIKE (NAP) in this six furlong sprint at headquarters on Saturday.
The course and distance winner won this vey race in 2022 as a four-year-old, and four years later the Lethal Force-gelding is still in great heart, winning last month at Newbury.
Billy Loughnane in the plate also makes Strike a good bet for win purposes.
2.35 Newbury – 7f Handicap
Stuart Williams’ HUMAM (NB) was bang there on the premises over the stiff seven furlongs at Newmarket July’s Course last time, and this more sympathetic track should play to his strengths.
At around 15/2 in our sports betting, he’s an interesting each-way play.
2.55 Ripon – 6f William Hill Silver Cup
BEYOND BORDERS only faltered in the final furlong of the Great St Wilfrid here last season, and the new addition of Kaiya Fraser in the saddle today could well reap dividends.
Now trained by Gemma Tutty, the five-year-old ran a nice enough prep race for this at Southwell 19 days ago.
3.10 Newbury – 7f Hungerford Stakes (Group 2)
The Godolphin-owned SYMBOL OF HONOUR comes into the race with excellent recent form after capturing the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes.
The Havana Grey-gelding looks like his season is finally cranking into gear and he’s the percentage call to follow up.
3.25 Ripon – 6f William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap
It’s interesting that Michael Appleby and the Horse Watchers have opted to run ROYAL ZABEEL in this feature handicap rather than one of those at York next week.
Quietly fancied for the Wokingham, the five-year-old was done no favours by his draw, and he certainly brings a classier handicapping element to proceedings at Ripon.
3.42 Newbury – 7f Novice Stakes
The Andrew Balding stable has a history of targeting this specific Newbury meeting with high-calibre turf prospects, and SILENT FORCE fits that bill perfectly.
Running in the striking yellow colours of Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum, the youngster can make a solid impression first time up.
