Keely Hodgkinson 800m World Record odds revealed
Keely Hodgkinson’s odds to win 800m gold and break the World Record have been revealed by William Hill.
The leading bookmaker make Hodgkinson 2/1 to win gold at this week’s European Athletics Championship, behind Switzerland’s Audrey Werro (4/7).
Women’s 800m Gold Medal Winner
- Audrey Werro – 4/7
- Keely Hodgkinson – 2/1
- Femke Bol – 5/1
Hodgkinson currently holds the 800m short-track indoor World Record and William Hill have revealed a special market with the Olympic champion at 9/1 to win gold and break the World Record.
Should she complete the feat, her 20/1 odds for another BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award will likely shorten significantly.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “All eyes will be on Keely Hodgkinson at the European Athletics Championship in Birmingham this week as she bids to not only reclaim her 800m crown, but write herself into the event’s history books.
“Although Switzerland’s Audrey Werro is the odds-on favourite to take gold, Hodgkinson is a close second in the betting at 2/1 and may set her sights even beyond simply winning.
“All the talk of World Records being broken has seen us release a special market on the event, with Hodgkinson to win gold and break the 800m World Record priced at 9/1.”
