Champions League: LASK v Celtic — momentum the key as LASK look to flip the script in Linz

William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Qualification game between LASK and Celtic.

Our Prediction: LASK Linz To Win & 3+ Match Goals (7/4), LASK 3-1 Celtic (12/1)

Celtic travel to Austria on Tuesday night with one foot firmly in the Champions League league phase after a 3–0 victory over LASK in Glasgow last week, the Hoops will be looking to complete the job.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Champions League odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixture:

LASK v Celtic – Tuesday, 8pm

View all available markets at William Hill

  • LASK have never reached the Champions League group stage and will need a clear step up in European performances if they’re to change that this season, especially given they’ve got to overturn a 3 goal deficit following their first leg defeat in Glasgow.
  • The Austrian champions had their chances at Celtic Park but were wasteful in front of goal, they ended the game with a xG of 1.58 compared to Celtic’s 0.93, yet they find themselves 3-0 defeat.
  • This tie could turn if LASK are able to get an early goal and get the crowd on their side, momentum will play a big part in this one and punters can back the Austrian side at 17/2 to progress here with William Hill.

  • Celtic missed out on Champions League football last season after a shock penalty shootout defeat to Kairat, and they’ll be determined to take see out this advantage in Austria and get the job completed.
  • Martin O’Neill’s side have started the new campaign perfectly and extended their unbeaten run to thirteen competitive games in all competitions including last season, a slight worry in this one would be how easy LASK go in behind last week.
  • This is a game that should be full of goals, eight of Celtic’s last nine European games featured over 2.5 goals and with LASK having no other option than going full throttle, both teams to score & no draw at 13/10 looks good value with William Hill.
