A rematch with Filip Hrgovic is one of Moses Itauma’s likeliest next fights, according to William Hill.
Following Itauma’s shock ninth-round defeat to Filip Hrgovic last night, the leading bookmaker go 4/1 that the British heavyweight’s next bout will be a rematch with the Croatian fighter.
Should his team choose to ease him back into the ring, the No.30-ranked Guido Vianello is also 4/1, alongside British veteran Richard Riakporhe.
British boxing fans will hope to see him take on Daniel Dubois in the not-too-distant future, but last night’s defeat has seen the chance of that bout being his next pushed out to 10/1.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Moses Itauma’s defeat to Filip Hrgovic last night has sent shockwaves through the heavyweight division and the question now is, where does he go from here?
“A rematch with the Croatian is one of the likelier options at 4/1 and the Brit will surely be keen to exact his revenge after last night’s defeat.
“There’s every chance he takes another fight to prepare for the rematch and if that’s to be the case then former British heavyweight champion Richard Riakporhe is also a 4/1-shot alongside Italian Guido Vianello.
“Joseph Parker would be another serious test for the young Brit at 5/1, while fans will likely have to wait for the highly anticipated match with Daniel Dubois, who is 10/1 to be up next for Itauma.”
