US Open Betting Tips: Karolína Muchová, Jessica Pegula & More – Wednesday 2nd September 2026

| BY Sam Cox

All eyes are on the 2026 US Open on Wednesday and fans can find tennis betting odds on the key matches – which are previewed below at William Hill News.

US Open Predictions for September 2

  • Over 39.5 games (7/10)
  • Tommy Paul to win 3-0 (23/20)
  • Karolína Muchová -5.5 games (10/11)
  • Jessica Pegula -6.5 games (10/11)

Ben Shelton vs Hubert Hurkacz Tips

It’s a battle of the big servers between Ben Shelton and Hubert Hurkacz. Shelton is coming off a second ATP 1000 title of his career at the Canadian Open, but he fell early on in Cincinnati and disappointed at the last two Slams.

A fourth-round appearance Wimbledon was Hurkacz’s best Slam showing since the 2024 French Open. He’s played well on the ATP Challenger Tour this year but has been a long way off the standard required when facing top 30 players.

There could be some long sets with these two powerful servers. A first set tie break has value at 13/8.

Dino Prižmić vs. Tommy Paul Tips

Dino Prižmić needed five sets to beat world number 98 Aleksandr Shevchenko in the first round. Tommy Paul, who isn’t having his best year, came from a set down to beat Coleman Wong.

Aside from some impressive wins on the clay of Rome and Madrid, there’s not been anything to suggest Prižmić can live with Paul if he’s anywhere near his best. The American ended a poor run with a win over Alexander Zverev in Cincinnati.

The last five Slams have been disappointing for Paul, but this is an opportunity to go on a deep run.

Karolína Muchová vs. Katie Boulter Tips

Wimbledon finalist Karolína Muchová is favoured for her meeting with Katie Boulter on Wednesday. Muchová was a quarterfinalist at the US Open last year and reached the semis in 2023 and 2024.

Boulter beat Carol Lee in a three-set first-round duel, including a 6-0 deciding set. The Brit hasn’t reached the third round of a Grand Slam since the 2023 US Open.

Since last year’s Wimbledon, Boulter has only one win against a top 20 player. Even in a tournament of upsets, it’s hard to see how the Brit comes out on top here.

Jessica Pegula vs Sofia Kenin Tips

Both players had straight sets wins in the first round. Jessica Pegula, who has a 4-2 record against Sofia Kenin, is the clear favourite for this contest. Kenin hasn’t reached the third round of a Grand Slam since the 2025 French Open.

It’s even longer if you focus exclusively on the US Open. A major champion in 2020, Kenin hasn’t had two wins at the US Open since a fourth-round appearance in 2020.

Pegula was a finalist in Washington and Cincinnati. She will be keen to wrap this up quickly to preserve energy for later rounds.
