US Open Betting Tips: Tsitsipas & Kostyuk Head Best Bets On Friday 4th September 2026
We’re well and truly underway in the 2026 US Open and William Hill News look at the best tennis betting picks this Friday.
US Open Predictions for September 4
- Over 40.5 total games (17/20)
- Match to reach a final set (2/1)
- Sorana Cîrstea -2.5 games (8/11)
- Marta Kostyuk to win 2-0 (10/11)
Tommy Paul vs Alexander Bublik Prediction
Alexander Bublik beat Tommy Paul at the 2025 US Open. It was a five-set epic and Bublik’s first win over Paul after suffering three previous defeats.
Paul has dropped a set in each of his first two matches, while Bublik only dropped five games in a second-round drubbing of Adrian Mannarino. This tournament marks Bublik’s first competitive action since July. Paul has been more active, including a run to the last eight in Cincinnati.
This could be another marathon match. These players are pretty well matched. We’re taking the over.
Jiří Lehečka vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction
A first-round win over Arthur Fils led to Stefanos Tsitsipas beating a qualifier in Lloyd Harris in the second round. The Greek’s reward is a fifth duel with Jiří Lehečka. Tsitsipas has won two of the four meetings, though unsurprisingly Lehečka was successful in their two most recent matchups.
It’s been a mixed bag for Lehečka lately. Losses to Fils and Rafael Jódar saw premature exits at the last two Masters events, but he made the fourth round at Wimbledon and the semis in Stuttgart.
Tsitsipas can still go toe-to-toe with top 20 players. It’s not just a win over Fils – he’s beaten Alex de Minaur, Bublik, and Daniil Medvedev this year. We fancy this to go the distance.
Sorana Cîrstea vs Jasmine Paolini Prediction
Jasmine Paolini has won her three previous matches against Sorana Cîrstea. Playing in her final season, Cîrstea has had a surprising breakout campaign. The Romanian has reached a career-high in the rankings and has made several deep runs.
Just as Cîrstea won her first two matches in emphatic fashion, Paolini dispatched compatriot Lucrezia Stefanini with ease in the second round. It’s been a disappointing singles season for Paolini aside from a quarter-final appearance at Wimbledon.
It’s easy to see why Cîrstea is favoured in the betting here. Paolini has never been beyond the fourth round at a Grand Slam and has her work cut out in this one.
Marta Kostyuk vs Ekaterina Alexandrova Prediction
Ekaterina Alexandrova has won both of her previous matches against Marta Kostyuk, but they haven’t met for several years so that statistic needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Kostyuk is the clear favourite for this contest after dominant wins in the first two rounds.
It’s not so long ago that Alexandrova beat Aryna Sabalenka. There were poor results in Memphis, Cincinnati, and Monterrey, though, and the 31-year-old has won less than half of her matches in 2026.
Kostyuk has inevitably cooled off slightly after going on a tear during the European season. Still, the Ukrainian is playing at a high enough level to win this comfortably.
