Super League: Round 27 Predictions and Betting Tips
The Super League season has reached the business end and William Hill News provides predictions and betting tips for the final round before the play-offs.
The top six is already confirmed, with sixth-place Hull KR sitting four points clear of St Helens in seventh, meaning the play-off picture is already pretty set. That said, team can still move around inside the top six and gain themselves a more favourable run, while the League Leaders Shield could also change hands on the final day.
The bottom five may not have any silverware up for grabs, but just two points separate 14th and 10th, so the final round will have meaningful implications on financial rewards and IMG gradings.
York Knights v Bradford Bulls – Thursday 10th September, 20:00
York head into their final home game of the season as 1/4 favourites, currently sitting 10th in the table two points ahead of Bradford Bulls, who are bottom. The Bulls arrive as 11/4 underdogs.
The Knights put their four-game winless run to an end against Catalans last week and arrive here with momentum off the back of that game. However, the Bulls also stopped their rot with a win over Castleford and may be closer matched to their opponents that the odds suggest.
Prediction: Bradford Bulls +10 Handicap Betting – EVS
Leeds Rhinos v Hull FC – Friday 11th September, 20:00
Leeds Rhinos have had a stellar season and although it is not in their hands, they can still win the League Leaders Shield if results go their way elsewhere. They’re obvious 1/25 favourites to deliver another two points at Headingley to put right last week’s 8-40 loss to Wigan.
Hull FC have their work cut out to get anything out of this game, but they finish as high as 10th if they win and things work out for them in the other games. At 15/2, it is probably worth leaving them alone in the match betting market.
Prediction: Leeds Rhinos -24.5 Handicap Betting – 10/11
St Helens v Hull KR – Friday 11th September, 20:00
St Helens will be hoping to end what has been a below par season on a high as they host Hull KR. Saints’ past two games have seen them crash out of contention for the play-offs, with defeats against Leeds and Leigh sending their season on a downward spiral.
Hull KR on the other hand have pulled four points clear of the opponents in sixth place and could still move up to fifth with a win here, providing Leigh lose to Wakefield.
With neither side particularly needing a win here it’s hard to see them going hell for leather with full-strength teams out, so it’s a tricky one to call. That said, there is pride on the line for Saints in front of their home fans.
Prediction: St Helens To Win
Leigh Leopards v Wakefield Trinity – Friday 11th September, 20:00
This is probably the standout game of round 27 as Wakefield, who currently sit fourth in the table, travel to fifth-place Leigh. Just two points separate the sides and Leigh’s home advantage see them head into the one as 1/3 favourites.
Wakefield are in good form having beaten Warrington last week and York the week prior. They’re 11/5 and are the value play here as they look to nudge themselves up to third.
Prediction: Wakefield Trinity Match Betting – 11/5
Warrington Wolves v Toulouse Olympique – Friday 11th September, 20:00
One of the five games taking place on Friday night see Warrington take on one of this season’s promoted teams, Toulouse. The French outfit have made a good start to life in Super League, sitting eighth in the table, but this looks a tough ask to win away at Warrington.
The hosts are 2/5 favourites with the visitors priced at 7/4. Warrington are definitely the value play here as they require a win to keep their hands on third place.
Prediction: Warrington Wolves -8 Handicap Betting – 11/10
Wigan Warriors v Catalan Dragons – Friday 11th September, 20:00
We finish off our batch of Friday night predictions with Wigan Warriors at home to Catalans Dragons. Wigan are two points clear at the top and need a point to make sure that’s where they finish, so don’t expect them to take things easy here.
Catalans sit ninth with nothing to play for and that lack of motivation could see Wigan put them to the sword.
Prediction: Wigan Warriors -32 Handicap Betting – 5/6
Huddersfield Giants v Castleford Tigers – Saturday 12th September, 15:00
The final game of the regular 2026 Super League season is by no means a blockbuster, with two sides at the wrong end of the table facing off. Huddersfield sit 13th bottom with Castleford 11th, but this game could have implications as far as prize money and IMG Gradings are concerned.
The Fords looked to have a brighter season but turmoil with former head coach Ryan Carr – which Cas fans are no strangers to – has seen their season come to a dreary end. That said, they won’t want to drop any further in the table or let Huddersfield leapfrog them on the final day and they’re capable of inflicting another defeat on the Giants as they did at Wheldon Road back in February.
Prediction: Castleford Tigers Match Betting – 4/1
