3.00 – 2m2f Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2)

Given Emmet Mullins’ exciting recent news regarding his new training yard acquisition, it wouldn’t surprise me to see WINDAY (NB) keep up the good stable vibes on Friday.

Highly impressive when winning by six lengths at Ffos Las last time out, he gets a massive weight advantage here due to his age, receiving 16lb less than Caballo De Mar.

A potential hurdler in the making, his odds of 11/2 look generous.

3.35 – 1m4f Fillies’ Handicap

Ridden by Daniel Muscutt for trainer James Fanshawe, SALAMANCA CITY is an ultra-consistent horse this season

Even though she carries the top weight of 9st 12lb, her race fitness and winning mentality make her a solid each-way option.

4.10 – 7f Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

Representing the powerful combination of trainer William Haggas and jockey Tom Marquand, ANTONOVA has been catching the eye in home gallops.

That’s a good enough reason for me to make her a confident selection in this contest.

4.45 – 6f Nursery Handicap

Having finished a close second last time out, BERESFORD GAP remains unexposed and looks highly competitive under a manageable weight.

Both the trainer and the jockey are in form, so we should be looking at a first time handicap plunge today.

5.20 – 1m2f Handicap

Carrying the joint top weight of 10st 2lb, the Jennie Candlish-trained SPIRIT GENIE is a last-time-out winner who is in peak racing condition.

This Chester regular should be able to dictate his own pace on a wide open track like Doncaster.
